Thompson Thompson RCMP charge male with attempted murder Mon, 26 Feb 2018 14:15:00 -0500 On February 24, 2018, at approximately 11:45 pm, Thompson RCMP received a report of a serious injury at a residence. When officers arrived, a 27-year-old male from Thompson was suffering from a deep laceration to his upper body that was caused by a machete. Investigation led officers to arrest Chris Watt, 23, from Thompson. Watt is charged with Attempted Murder and is being held in custody. The victim is in stable condition in the hospital.

Easterville Chemawawin RCMP investigate homicide Mon, 26 Feb 2018 13:45:00 -0500 On February 24, 2018, at approximately 12:45 pm, Chemawawin RCMP received a report of an abandoned vehicle on the road leading to the Easterville Airport. When officers arrived and searched the vehicle, blood was located. A search was immediately started by the police and the community for the last known individual to have driven the car, a 30-year-old male from Easterville, Manitoba. The male ...was discovered deceased on February 25, 2018. The death is suspicious, and the RCMP is investigating this as a homicide.

Stony Mountain Manitoba RCMP searching for two escaped inmates Sun, 25 Feb 2018 13:00:00 -0500 On February 24, 2018, at 10:10 pm, Stonewall RCMP received a report of two missing inmates from the minimum security unit at the Stony Mountain Institution. Officers attended and were advised that the two inmates were last seen at the 7:30 pm headcount. A search of the area did not locate either inmate.... William Benjamin Hunter-Garrioch, 21-years of age, is 5’7, and weighs 126 lbs. He has a medium complexion, brown eyes, brown hair and has a scar on his left wrist.
