Dance Safe Ontario is celebrating the news that the Ontario Government is providing $25 million dollars in support through the Ontario Arts Council to support professional artists and arts organizations devastated by the pandemic. We need to support the artists of today, but we also need to support the artists of tomorrow. The dancers at Ballet Jorgen Minister MacLeod spoke of began their career as a child in a local dance school. Professional dancers in Ontario can all trace... their beginnings back to the dance studio classroom where they began their lessons. We are not asking for direct financial support or funding. We are simply asking for the opportunity to open our classrooms safely for children to continue their journey in the arts. While few will become professionals, they all will become adults that appreciate the arts. We all rely on the arts in our everyday lives. The arts help us emotionally, psychologically, and even help to shape our individual and collective personalities. And for dance this all begins in the classroom at the local dance studio. We ask once again that Public Health units across the Province be provided guidance that children’s dance studios are not fitness or exercise classes. Our last graduate of 2019/2020....Dominique Veliceasa Dom came to CDU 4 years ago and she was a great addition to our senior team She always demonstrated so much passion, emotion, hardwork and dedication in all of her classes! We will miss her smile and sense of humor around the studio. We wish her all the best as she enters the next phase of her life!

NEXT UP....Amy McCloskey Amy has been dancing since the age of 3 and her passion for dance just kept growing from there. We admire her dedication and her hard work as a teammate in the studio. We will miss her warm smile around the studio. Wishing her all the best in the next chapter of her life.

To kick off our first week back we would like to commemorate our graduates It was such a tough year for them and we are so proud to have them a part of the studio! We will miss them here at CDU First up....Olivia DiPietrantonio Olivia has been a part of the studio since the tender age of 3. She is a hard worker and has always shown so much determination and passion with her dancing We watched her grow up at the studio into the intelligent young lady she is today! Canadian Dance Unit is proud to be a member of the dedicated community of studio owners and dance studios who came together to create new health and safety guidelines for operating a dance studio during the Covid-19 pandemic. Our faculty is working towards creating a safe and welcoming environment for all of our students. We have successfully implemented new protocols during our summer programs and will continue as we prepare to start our new dance season come September.
