We regret to inform you that the Canadian Rockies International Airshow, scheduled to take place on August 5th and 6th 2016 has been cancelled. The Airshow Society has received a lot of support and interest from both the general public and the many acts slated to perform at the show, however there has been a minimal response to our requests for volunteers and interest in corporate sponsorship. ... We would like to thank the individuals and organizations that did step forward as we tried to bring this event to fruition, and we hope that in the future, in a better economic climate we can come back and bring the City of Cranbrook and the Kootenay Region the Airshow that we had intended. Decorated Second World War pilot visits 430 Squadron This week, members of 430 Tactical Helicopter Squadron had a unique opportunity to meet the last surviving ...Second World War pilot of 430 Squadron. Honorary Lieutenant-General Richard Rohmer (92 years) is the pilot responsible for the ''Catching of field Marshal Erwin Rommel''. He completed 135 operational missions during the Second World War, flying the P51 Mustang. A legend of the RCAF still alive and well...
