Canadian Adventure Therapy Symposium 21.11.2020

In this unprecedented time of adversity and challenge, there are deep opportunities for us to demonstrate leadership and to inspire others to find the best of themselves. Change is imposing itself like never before, which can both create stress but also adjacent spaces for innovations to emerge. Uncertainty so often is a source of great anxiety and anxiety can erode our confidence, our happiness, the quality of our work and our peace of mind.if we let it.... The fact is that in our rapidly changing world, one of the single most valuable skills you can possess is the ability to Navigate Uncertainty. Sometimes Life requires us to be Bold and Brave and to sometimes act in the absence of the full information to accept risks and take the road less traveled. This workshop is packed with world-class storytelling, playful, active learning, meaningful connection and transformative tools for participants to take away with them. Our company is leading the revolution to re-define the words Professional Development. This workshop has been designed for an online platform in this time of social distancing. Let us build an experience for you, your work place or your community. #boldandbrave, #thegatheringcalm https://www.leadersoftheday.com/online-virtual-workshops-a/ Image may contain: one or more people, possible text that says 'BOLD & BRAVE MAKING FRIENDS WITH UNCERTAINTY'

"Be Part of the Gathering Calm". Please feel free to share this widely! As I am fond of telling my children and my students: "Our best ideas arrive when we are calm". There is a lot of negative and fear producing content online right now and the goal of this campaign is to share these posts and saturate this online space with hopeful and constructive messaging. Each day for the next little while, I will share a new photo with the same message. My goal is to include an optimis...tic personal challenge that people can do and share back with their own reflections. Challenge #1 arrives tomorrow! Be a Lighthouse in this time of uncertainty for those around you. I promise that as we shift our perspective that our most resourceful ideas will rise to the surface. Let's take good care of each other Friends! "Be Part of the Gathering Calm". #thegatheringcalm

5 of our CATS Advisory Committee members in collaboration with the OCC have been helping to lead a Team of very talented Outdoor Professionals and Educators who have been collaborating for almost a 15 months now on the "blueprints" for a Canadian Outdoor Summit. If you are someone whose work is grounded in the sector of what we are calling "Led Outdoor Activity" then this Summit is for you! This historic national gathering is aimed at raising important awareness about the de...ep benefits of outdoor activity for all Canadians. We have already begun to assemble special work groups who as specialists in the industry will gather ahead of the Summit and start to look at important topics including the vision of some national standards for Instructor training and competencies (as one example) We are looking for your voices, your expertise, your unique perspectives and support as we seek to engage in this important and very timely national conversation. The Summit will be hosted by the Outdoor Council of Canada in collaboration with Leaders of the Day, countless Canadian Universities and other leading organizations in our industry. This is NOT just another Conference. Join us Sept. 29th until Oct. 2nd 2020 in Gatineau, Quebec! More importantly come be part of the process, both before, during and after this unique event. Come help us re-shape the future of Led Outdoor Activity in Canada and have a hand in ensuring access to these activities for future generations of Canadians both young and old.
