Not all were in attendance this past weekend but for those who were, we presented them with the banners they won for their entries in the 2020 Online National Show! Thanks to all sponsors and to all entrants for taking the time to showcase your animals. Special thanks to Ian Fox for taking the time to judge the classes for the CBDA! Congratulations again to all who participated!

As there are no shows this summer/fall we have decided to try a Video show. If you have questions you can call or email me to get more information. Entries close October 1st. More info in the picture attached. We are planning to have prizes/prize money available for the show, and the cattle DO NOT have to be halter broken in order to participate. There are also a couple extra classes as well as allowing animals 75% Blonde and above to compete. We thought that this would encou...rage the most amount of participation from across the country. In order to be able to have prizes and prize money we will need some sponsorship. Sponsors will receive recognition on our website, Facebook page (CBDA and OBDA), name printed on prizes and we are hoping to partner with the Ontario Blonde Association to announce winners and present prizes prior to the Cream of the Crop Sale which will be broadcast live on the internet via liveauctions.net. Below is a list of the Sponsorships available; please contact me if you would like to sponsor. More info in the picture attached.

It is with a very heavy heart that the CBDA family announces the passing of Myrna Flesch (West Winds Blondes). After a short stay in hospital, Myrna passed away just before 6am this morning. She is now free of pain and joins life partner Shirley Bilton who was a founding member of the CBDA. Myrna was a very passionate Blonde breeder and a long time CBDA Board member, serving as President for a number of years. She led the breed through very tough times and continue to forge t...he way promoting her genetics on an Intetnational level. West Winds influence can be found around the world still today. Although Myrna had not actively had cattle in recent years, she still had a strong interest in cattle, and served as the CBDA representative on the CLRC Board until her passing. Please join the entire CBDA family in passing on our condolences to the family of Myrna.

A video I borrowed from our Australian counterparts. "How to do a DNA Follicle Sample (tail hair)" . And just a note that people should be using the cards shown in the video to place the tail hair in as of now. They are available from CLRC or the Lab themselves. https://www.youtube.com/watch

Just wanted to send out a note to all of our members in the Facebook community - CLRC has informed me that Jenna Andrews, one of the two ladies that is a registrar for the cattle breeds, will be leaving her position effective the end of the week. Until they are able to find a replacement, all of the cattle breeds will be left with only one registrar, Lisa Hutt, to handle all matters. While the summer is usually a slower time, do not expect work to be finished in a speedy manner. This will have significant impact on registrations for the shows and sale, so please be diligent in getting them all in as soon as possible. As well, remember to make note of all your dates when you send stuff to the CLRC, so we have a timeline to fall back on in case anything goes awry.

4 year old blonde bull for sale - Little Creek Cityslicker 122C. He is currently owned by Nick Mannhart in Libeu, Manitoba who asked me to let folks know he's for sale. He's a single polled son of Little Creek Aladdin and Crystal Yammer. Picture is him as a 2 year old before he left AB. A very thick and deep bull that sired very high quality calves.
