Dexter cows are fantastic mothers. Heifers mature young and can be with a bull at 15 to 18 months of age. Calving problems are rare, with the cow requiring no assistance from it's human friends.
This is a fine specimen of a Dexter bull and a great representation of the breed. His name is DCC Brisket, height 41", weight a little over a thousand pounds and just a gentle sweetheart. Photo credit @Dexter Cattle Company
