In the World there are a 1.5 million dedicated Lions. In the CLERC World there is PDG Gordon Prusky. Gordon has worked tirelessly for 25 years with CLERC. Gordo...n’s excellence as our current Executive Secretary and dedication to CLERC is unmatched. This well deserved Lifetime Achievement Award hardly seems like enough gratitude for the countless hours, professionalism and unwavering support that Gordon has given to help the 6 million recipients see the world clearly. Pictured presenting this award to Gordon are CLERC Chair James Lee and CLERC Operations Chair Zone C-2 2nd Vice DG Darrel Rawleigh (right). A heartfelt Congratulations Gordon from the CLERC Executive. See more

As Lions we are aware of many societal needs of those less fortunate. Sight, hearing, diabetes all come to mind. Here is an issue that we as Lions need to meet head on and promote our abilities to help eradicate.

Dear Lions, The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic is continuing to impact the work of Lions around the world. As you know, it has also created financial hardships... for our Lions and the people for whom we care. To support the incredible men and women serving with us, the International Board of Directors unanimously passed another resolution to help our clubs. Here is an overview of the new resolution approved by the Board of Directors: - Charter and entrance fees waiver We have waived all charter and entrance fees from January 1 through June 30, 2021. - Flexible payments No clubs in good standing on December 31, 2020 will be suspended or canceled through June 30, 2021 for late payment of dues. Full payment is required to be received before June 30, 2021 to avoid suspension or cancellation. These additional measures will help Lions facing financial hardships and give our clubs the support and encouragement they need during these challenging times. For more than a century, Lions have taken on the greatest challenges facing humanity, and together, we will overcome this. The world needs Lions now more than ever, so thank you for your outstanding service and commitment to our communities and the world. Regards, Dr. Jung-Yul Choi International President https://app.e.roar.lionsclubs.org/e/es

CLERC would like to extend a Happy New Years to all Lions and their families in 2021. Thankfully this year draws to a close. As Lions we have learned to keep do...ing what makes this World, our Communities and our friendships a better place. We have learned to do new things like club and executive ZOOM Meetings, get more computer savvy, and talk through a mask. This has an upside moving forward. Be well, stay safe and keep doing the things that enriches your life and the lives of others. All the very best in 2021. See more

Our Leadership class is organizing an eyeglasses drive for the Canadian Lions Eyeglass Recycling Centre. Please bring in your old, unused eyeglasses to the off...ice! Your old glasses will be turned into new glasses to be used in a different country to improve people's vision and better the possibility of them getting an education and a job. All types of glasses are welcome: readers, prescription glasses, and sunglasses, even if they are scratched, broken, or missing a lens. No cases, please. How many pairs do you think we can collect? CLERC NEEDS EYEGLASSES: Just a reminder to Lions Clubs across Canada that CLERC is open and processing glasses in a safe and volunteer protected operational man...ner. We have been processing glasses on a limited basis since the start of this pandemic. Our inventory of used eyeglasses is low and we require your assistance in remedying that. Information on shipping glasses can be attained by calling our warehouse at 1-(403)-640-1056. You can also check us out at www.clerc.ca and [email protected] or on Facebook. The cost of doing business has risen due to purchasing Covid PPE, rent, and operational expenses, so if your Lions Club cares to contribute to the cause financially we at CLERC would be grateful. Cheque’s can be made payable to CLERC. Huge thanks and a boatload of gratitude for the continued support of this wonderful program by Lions Clubs of Canada. The smiling faces of the nearly 6 Million recipients of eyeglasses from Canada, in 92 Countries demonstrates that in spades. Be safe, be well. See more
