The time is now friends. Please sign and share our petition. Deadline is Feb 23rd. This is our best chance for rebuilding our music economy From our Executive Director Steve Sainas I’m wondering if you have signed and shared our NEW MP Sponsored Canadian Musicians’ Support Fund petition that will be presented in the House of Commons this Spring? ... This petition is a different more important official petition than the one you might have signed prior to November 25th. We need as many signatures as possible to support MP Ron McKinnon’s presentation on behalf of all Canadian musicians to create an ongoing fund to financially support all professional musicians and live music venues, as well as public music education. . The petition closes February 23rd. Once signed, it will send you a confirmation email that you need to reply to complete the signature. The email might land in your junk email, so please check there if you don’t see it shortly after signing. Can you please share on all you social media? Thanks! https://petitions.ourcommons.ca/en/Petition/Details

The time for change is now, thank you @SteveSainas for working so hard to get a living wage for professional Canadian musicians, as well money for music education and to our venues! If you haven't signed yet, please sign and share today! Our petition states 1. Create an ongoing Canadian Musicians’ Support Fund to (i) provide sustainable financial relief to professional musicians so they can earn an annual living wage, (ii) support rebuilding our music economy by providi...ng professional live music performance incentives to venues, (iii) provide additional funding for creative grants to support new Canadian music creation, as well as for public school music education to foster the development of future Canadian musicians; 2. While currently amending the Broadcasting Act, consider which regulatory tools would be most suitable to address fair and transparent remuneration for music artists. Dear Fellow Musicians and Music Supporters, EXCITING NEWS!!! We hope you are doing well during these challenging times. I know that the Canadian Musicians' Coalition has been fairly quiet these past few weeks, but rest assured we have been working hard behind the scenes meeting with my local MP Ron KR McKinnon and his staff to support our Canadian music community. We are pleased to announce that Mr. McKinnon has officially sponsored our petition to create a Canadian Musici...ans' Support Fund and to seek amendments to the Broadcasting Act to bring about fair remuneration for artists' recorded works. We wish to sincerely thank Mr. Mckinnon and his staff for their on-going support! Now it is up to all musicians and music supporters to show their support by please signing this officially sponsored petition. If you signed our previous petition, please sign this new petition as well because this one is officially sponsored by our Member of Parliament and will be presented in the House of Commons. Let's work hard for the next 90 days, (deadline is Feb 23rd) to collect the tens of thousands of signatures needed to rebuild our music economy and support musicians who provide such an essential service to our society with the creation of the music we all enjoy and need daily to keep us healthier and happier, especially during these challenging times of isolation. Please sign and share this MP sponsored petition so that Member of Parliament Ron McKinnon can strongly present our petition to the Government of Canada in the House of Commons. https://petitions.ourcommons.ca/en/Petition/Details You can also share right from the petition website on a few different platforms. Click on the share, you can find it on top right corner of the official petition. For any questions, please contact Steve Sainas on his personal Facebook page or email at www.canadianmusiciancoalition.ca Steve Sainas
