Practicing on the patio! We have been hosting live Tai Chi practice sessions on Zoom for CTCA-London members and others from the South Western Ontario locations. Canada wide online instructor training sessions started last week. We are trying to stay connected to our members and to support our instructors during these difficult times. Unfortunately it may be some time before we can return to in person classes. When that happens, we will share information about when we will return to classes and how classes will be structured and implemented.
As of March 14, 2020, all classes, workshops and events held by the Canadian Tai Chi Academy (CTCA) have been cancelled for a two month period across Canada. Please see the attached announcement from the CTCA Board of Directors, an excerpt from a letter to location representatives and members. "In light of the growing concerns regarding the COVID-19 virus, the CTCA Board of Directors has made the decision to cancel all CTCA classes effective immediately (March 14) for the ne...xt 2 months. Cancellations include workshops and intensives scheduled during this time frame. The board’s decision is made with reference to Health Canada's guidance on a risk-informed decision-making for social distancing during the COVID-19 global outbreak. The CTCA is a community based organization with a primary concern for the well being of our members, their families and communities, and we strongly feel that this course of action is the responsible decision to make at this time. We anticipate that regular scheduled classes can resume by May 15, 2020, but we will be monitoring the COVID- 19 situation carefully and will update you on any further developments." Best Regards The CTCA Board of Directors If you live in London or the surrounding area, please message us if you have any questions.

Today was the first Saturday in four Saturday sessions to learn Lui He Ba Fa, organized by the CTCA Tillsonburg. The instructor, Andrew from CTCA London, was very impressed to find InstantPot congee at lunch. A few of the members from other locations assisted with making congee at a recent regional workshop in London and have clearly put the knowledge to use. What a fabulous lunch! Great job Tillsonberg.
The Simcoe location of the Canadian Tai Chi Academy(CTCA), recently celebrated their first anniversary. Congratulations!

Did you know that women’s tai chi practice is different than men’s? There are structural and physiological differences between men and women. In addition there are distinct phases in a woman’s life such as pregnancy and menopause that need to be addressed. We will be hosting an event on this topic in September so watch for more details. #taichi#taichichuan#yangtaichi#yangstyletaichi#yangtaichichuan#xingyi#meditation#taichiforhealth#luihebafa#martialarts#martialart#womenandtaichi

Today we held a workshop for the southwestern Ontario branches of the CTCA about tai chi and aging. We started with a group discussion of the aging process. Following that we looked at some of the principles of our tai chi and worked on applying the principles.
