The results of our February picture contest are in.... Congrats to Pam Pearce. We'll be in touch to arrange pickup of your prize. Thanks to everyone who submitted or followed along. See you again soon.
Today's Feburary Farm Picture Contest entry is from Hailey Dul, who is 5 years old. It's captioned "Dad’s tractor with our black cat". The internet loves cats, Hailey, nice strategy. Good luck and watch for the annoucement of a winner later this week.
Alana Dul, who is just 6 years old, submitted this black and white pic to our Farm Picture Contest, captioned "neighbours' tractor and old barn". Nice retro look, Alana. Good luck and look for a winner to be announced later this week.
Today's Farm Picture Contest entry comes from eight-year-old Lisbeth Dul, and is entitled "Grandpa’s Tractor fell over moving trees". We hope Grandpa is okay! Thanks for the picture, Lisbeth, and look for us to announce a winner later this week.
Shoutout to any ladies who drive farm equipment on International Women's Day. Let us know below: when did you first get behind the wheel? Was it easy or a bit scary? Did you get encouragement or flack from the boys? Let us know. Photo is from Provincial Archives of Alberta.

Well I guess this post is about as political as we are going to get. lol Happy Wednesday!
A young pioneers dream!!
See how I put a non tractor picture in with a tractor picture? Yup.....that's me trying to post a non tractor picture on this page. Happy Sunday! That picture with the tractors? That's our back yard. The Bernard Wiese Sawmill Exhibit is completed. The Stationary Engine Building is completed. (pictures will posted soon) Now onward bound to our next project. It will take a few years to get funding but we are starting already. You are looking at the very beginning of the Cana...dian Tractor Museum's new Outdoor Walking Trail. By the time this project is completed, we will have all artifacts on a base of some sort to keep from sinking, we will have a walking trail along the artifacts which will accommodate wheel chairs, strollers, walkers, etc. We will plant shrubs, strategically put benches and even have a gazebo built for shelter from the weather and a place to have speeches. And we will have interpretation signs for all artifacts outside! This trail will go right to the back and end at the Bernard Wiese Sawmill Exhibit. We will be providing some green spaces and creating a safe environment for our visitors, while showcasing some great exhibits and displays. Stay tuned for more on this project. See more
Tomorrow at 3:00pm is our Annual General Meeting. We need to have this meeting and pass a few resolutions. The AGM will be right after our regular Board Meeting. Please consider attending at 3:00. It will only take 5 to 10 minutes.
Happy Monday. Just know that somewhere out there, there are people who have time to this be creative.
So this post is not tractor related unless this dog lives on a farm with a tractor. Or farmers are as smart as this dog. idk. I just know I want this dog. And I live on a farm
The Canadian Tractor Museum has these tickets to sell to help out Thorhild. Just drop in when we're open or call us. We'll gladly sell you some tickets.
This little fellow is all ready for halloween.
Stationary Engine Display Buiilding Update: We are moving in. Our wonderful and tireless group of volunteers spent the morning moving over the bigger engines. I posted a picture of Rod's great model plan. So now they have an idea of where everything is going.
We just got word from Jeff that with the recent increase in Covid cases in the Westlock region and with Dr Hinshaw's new directive on social gatherings that all groups and classes run by the PCN are to be cancelled until further notice. This includes Walk and Talk with Jeff. Hopefully, we are back up and running soon.
Here is a great local story. Les Dunford, writer, made a correction/comment regarding this story "Note on Page 4 an apology for an error I made for a short article and pho for our local newspaper. I incorrectly called Grant Peden by our Club President's name, Art Purdy. My apologies to both of you fellows, as noted on Page 4, to both for the error. I have made that error in my mind before, don't really know why. Thanks to Phil Colbourne for pointing that out before I had completed this month's newsletter."
Just a reminder that Walk & Talk is tomorrow starting at 10:30 for about an hour. Jeff Calkins, CESP-CEP is a Kinesiologist/Exercise Specialist who works for Aspen Primary Care Network. He is a fitness expert and he leads us for about an hour of walking and stretching and of course talking.... A great way to socialize and get some physical activity at the same time. This is a free community program. Every week that you attend you get one entry into the draw for the monthly prize of the promotional bag. Social Distancing and all recommended hygiene practices will be followed and encouraged. Rain or Shine, we are a walking. Weather permitting we will walk along the Rotary Walking Trail. If the weather is wet and/or cold we will walk inside.
Happy Sunday! Check out this International tractor motorcycle. People sure are creative.

We have rescheduled our AGM for year ending January 31, 2020 to Wednesday November 4, 2020 at 3:00pm. This will be a very quick meeting just to pass a few resolutions. We need all members to come out and vote!
Today we had 8 wonderful participants come out to Walk and Talk with Jeff. We walked indoors because of the cold wind. With 20,000 square feet, social distancing is not a problem and masks are not required, however just to be prudent, everyone still wore masks. What a great way to get out, socialize, get some physical activity and still be safe. And Jeff allows for everyone to walk their own pace so it is awesome for everyone's needs. Every Wednesday morning starting at 10:30. Except for the next two weeks, Jeff will be about an half a hour late. No worries though, these ladies will just start without him. Oh...and thanks Janis.. I borrowed a couple of your great pictures!
Original footage from 1953 of the 'all new' Ford Tractor Golden Jubilee model. Shows the updated and improved technology available for 1953.
We are so fortunate to have these books donated to us so we can give them away! Every kid that comes to the museum leaves with a book from our little library

Stationary Engine Display Building Update. Our current President, Art Purdy, and our past President, Rod McFarlane, are hard at work applying the first coat of floor sealant. We have a few more things to do and this building construction is completed! The volunteers tell me we hope to start moving artifacts over next month. How exciting! We are planning to have the grand opening on Monday of the May long week-end in 2021.
