Wilderness North Air job opportunity: I work as an AME for Wilderness North Air, a fly in fishing outfitter based out of Thunder Bay, Ontario, with some work out in Indonesia. In Ontario we operate a DHC-3 Turbo Otter, a DHC-2 Beaver, Cessna 185, an AT802 FuelBoss. We have also recently absorbed Nakina Air and three of their Cessna Caravans.... In Indonesia we operate two AT802 FuelBosses at 2 different bases. One in Timika on the island of West Papua and one in Tarakan on the island of East Kalimantan. We will have a 3rd airplane in Timika by the end of the summer and up to 5 in Indonesia in the coming months. We are looking for 2-3 apprentices to do some overseas travel to Indonesia, with and engineer, where our aircraft deliver fuel to remote communities. The current work schedule for the overseas travel is 6 weeks on, 6 weeks off but this can be modified. Travel to and from Indonesia, accommodations and expenses are all covered by the company. This is not a job for the faint of heart. The environment can be quite harsh as it does get much hotter there than it does in Canada. There is a language barrier and quite a culture shock. However this is a great opportunity to learn and see a different part of the world. A pay scale is still being developed at the moment.
