CANAL DAYS 2020? | We know many of you have been inquiring about whether or not Canal Days will be happening this year due to COVID-19. A staff report regarding the 42nd Annual Canal Days Marine Heritage Festival, scheduled for July 31 - Aug. 3, 2020, and a recommendation from the Canal Days Advisory Committee, will be presented to City of Port Colborne Council at its meeting on Monday, April 27, 2020, at 6:30 p.m. To prevent the spread of COVID-19, the Council meeting will b...e held virtually, with the meeting live-streamed on the City’s YouTube channel. During the meeting, Mayor Steele will be the only member of Council present in Council Chambers along with the City Clerk and Chief Administrative Officer. Members of Council and senior staff will participate in the meeting remotely. Anyone wishing to be a delegate at this meeting is asked to submit a written delegation that will be circulated to council members prior to the meeting. Submissions must be received by noon on Monday, April 27, 2020, by emailing [email protected], or handwritten delegations can be submitted in the after-hours drop box in front of City Hall, 66 Charlotte Street. GIVING TUESDAY | Mayor Steele was happy to give Debra Morin a signed guitar today from Madeline Merlo and Doc Walker who played at Canal Days in City of Port Colborne during our Country night on Aug. 4, and Debra was happy to receive it!
