Big day today! Thank you Steve Wanless, Steve Wade and family, and filmmaker McKenna Grice who followed us around today to film, take pictures, and record testimonials! And thanks to General Grants, Cam and Dennis for always looking after us! Over 20 homes and three bins full!

Hey Gang, on Saturday a young aspiring Kamloops filmmaker will be shadowing me as I make my rounds, and she's going to put together a video for us to try and raise exposure in communities outside of Kamloops. With the Express drop off service, it's possible to donate to Cans for Cambodia all over the province. If anyone needs their empties picked up on Saturday, let me know! Also, I'm hoping our volunteers who helped out can be part of the video on Saturday! (And feel free to bring any empties you may have!) - Shawn

Gang, again a thank you for all the support. We will be out and about again on Saturday. PLEASE NOTE: Beverage containers only in the bags. My account received a warning this week because there was flammable material in one of the bags we dropped off at the depot. We need the express account to achieve our goals :) If you have any empties that need to be picked up, please let us know! - Shawn

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! 2020 was a bizarre year, but on the plus side, it led to a lot of recycling donations as people were spending more time at home than ever! LOL. In 2020 we returned over 150,000 items to the Kamloops bottle depots. Beer and pop cans, beer and wine bottles, plastic water and juice bottles, and lots of cartons. The money raised allowed a family in Phnom Penh to find a new home after their landlord had to move due to Covid 19. We kept Emmy and Ruby in schoo...l where they are excelling. A family in Siem Reap was kept afloat after losing work due to Covid 19 as we helped pay their rent and make their bank payments. We paid one month of hospital expenses for an 85 year old senior citizen who didn't have the means to pay for her health care. We helped a non-profit in Hue, Vietnam in their quest to help Covid 19 stricken rice farmers. Medical expenses were paid and education was covered for numerous families. All because of your empties being donated. Thank you to Steve Wade, Steve Wanless, Margaret Ngai, Austin Ngai, Suzan Jarisz, Dana-Lee Baker, Lorne Samaha and Nicole Oliver who took matters into their own hands and did pick ups and deliveries on their own to help the cause. Joy King who allowed her Pineview neighbours to drop off in her yard, and Clint Gill for loaning me his truck! (for some reason I can't tag any of you) Can we beat that in 2021? I sure hope so! My first rounds for 2021 are tomorrow afternoon, and I'm looking to pick up where 2020 left off! HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone!
