People in this province are incredible. Even during a pandemic, they find ways to support cancer patients. Check out Katie Bookout from Moose Jaw (green shirt, 4th from the left). She held a fundraiser to mark her milestone 30th birthday. She worked with a local company, Ripley Prints to make these awesome shirts you see in the picture.... We so appreciate the gift on her birthday of a stunning $4,130 for cancer patients at the Allan Blair Cancer Centre. Thank you to everyone who contributed, and THANK YOU Katie for thinking of cancer patients on your birthday. Such a wonderful gesture! #CancerFoundationSaskatchewan #StrongerTogether #Saskatchewan

We want to send a huge thank you to the staff and contractors at the BHP Jansen site outside of Leroy, SK. These amazing folks held a month-long fundraiser, in October, called PAINT SASK PINK MONTH, supporting breast cancer research in Saskatchewan. They blew past their original goal of raising $5,000, reaching an incredible $25,664. WOW! There were events all month long at the mine with 11 teams competing. It all culminated with a walk at the end of the month on the pink pa...th. To everyone who organized, donated and took part in the event, THANK YOU! Supporting research gives every person diagnosed with cancer hope. #CancerFoundationSaskatchewan #Saskatchewan Saskatchewan Cancer Agency BHP

These are some of the faces of the #onechipchallenge as it happened. Many brave souls put their taste buds and stomach’s on the line to eat a hot chili chip wafer in support of cancer patients at the Allan Blair Cancer Centre. One year ago life for Pat and Ken Langston, of Regina, took a very unexpected turn. Ken was diagnosed with Stage 4 lung/brain cancer. Read their heartwarming story below.... #CancerFoundationSaskatchewan #strongertogether Pat's Message... As we turn to the last month on the calendar in 2020, many of us will be reflecting on the eleven months past and what this year has been. For our family, this year has been one of change, challenge and thankfulness. One year ago, the C word became a large part of our vocabulary. It came as a complete surprise when just before Christmas my husband was diagnosed with stage 4 lung/brain cancer. Since then, we have travelled a road that prior to this year was totally foreign to us. Most people have had to deal with cancer on some level during their lives, as we have, but this was too close to home. If luck can play any part in this, we certainly had that on our side because he has been able to receive treatments that have reduced the size of his tumours and allowed him a quality of life we never expected. With the chaos in our world due to the COVID-19 crisis, good health is something that we all cherish. While scientists work tirelessly to solve the COVID crisis, there are others working to make advances in cancer treatment and to support those people who are dealing with a life-threatening illness. That is why, this year, we decided that rather than spend time looking for just the right gift for many of our family members, we would support the Cancer Foundation of Saskatchewan with a donation in their names. What better gift could anyone receive than the hope that, if they have a diagnosis as we did, the medical technology and expertise are there to support them in their journey.
