Can Clean PEI

Hello everyone ! I hope your isolations are going well. I’m going to take some time today to talk about cleaning the surface areas of your home. Now, I know what some of you are thinking. Duh !! Cheryl who doesn’t know how to do that! Cleaner, water, cloth, wipe and done! ... Thinks the skeptics It’s so simple! Right! Right ! So yes I agree, the action in it’s self is easy Peazy Lemmon squeezy! But are you taking all the steps required before wiping the surface? Spray the cleaner on the surface, then wipe it off with a wet cloth ! Thinks the skeptic. Right ! Wrong ! Here’s how! Step 1: When you clean a surface, any surface, spray the cleaner on. Easy right! But here is the part you may or may not know. You should leave it on the surface for 10 min. Leaving it on gives the cleaner/ degreaser/ disinfectant time to kill what its landing on. If you are spraying it on and wiping it off then you have a very clean cloth, as for the surface your cleaning not so much. Step 2: After the 10 min timer has gone off, get a scrub bucket with warm water and soap. I cannot emphasize enough it must be warm water! And yes Once again I can hear some of you thinking but we let the cleaner sit for 10 min all the germs are dead! And yes that is accurate, but I want you to think about this. While you are cleaning the area that is disinfected are you staying in that one place. The place that was disinfected, or are you going outside of it to grab other areas you see near by that haven’t been disinfected. If you are reaching for other areas, areas that have not been disinfected, then essentially you are dragging germs over to the area you have just cleaned. And re-contaminating the clean area once again. With all this being said, I know we can never get away from microscopic life, but we can try to prevent it’s transmission period.
