It’s that weird time of the year.. Between the holiday hype and a brand new year.Maybe you are feeling tired of your current habits, and ready to say FU to the previous year and can’t wait for a ‘fresh start’ January 1st. Does this sound like you? There is nothing wrong with a fresh start, it can be very empowering to set some positive, realistic and healthy goals to kick start your new year!... My biggest tip for you is DO NOT wait for an arbitrary date to start on your goals. Your mind will always try to convince you to wait for the ‘next best date’ or opportunity to start. I am afraid to tell you this.. You will either take a slow start or they will never happen. Life does NOT stop and things are always going to come up, curve balls are going to get thrown your way ANYTIME. This is WHY it is so important to set SMART goals. Smart goals will set you up for success today, tomorrow on January 1st and most importantly we are going to create healthy habits to last a lifetime and dominate your goals! What are SMART goals? SPECIFIC - what do you want to achieve? MEASUREABLE - How are you going to measure your progress? Or know how long it will take to get there. ATTAINABLE - do you have the tools or resources you need to hit this goal? Do you need to hire a coach or have a support team/accountability buddy? REALISTIC - are you being realistic about your goal? Do you believe you can hit it? And when are you going to achieve this by? TIME - *time is your most valuable asset* When will you accomplish your goal by? To be successful with your goals you must access them daily, weekly, monthly and remind yourself WHY you chose this goal. You GET to be here! This one hit’s home for me. As I have watched many loved ones pass away over the last 15 years. As a little girl.. I always loved to ‘help’ whether it was feeding the homeless over the holidays.. Helping my elderly grandparents or others close by. This year has been filled with mixed emotions.. ... Many of us have had to change up our routines and adapt to our new ones. This is not easy. For me, I took this as a challenge.. Head on. Week 1.. 3 curve balls got thrown my way. I could have sunk.. Hit rock bottom.. Like my old self would have. INSTEAD I decided to rise to the challenge and take massive action towards my goals and dreams! I took every day as a new opportunity, to show up with an open heart and open mind. The struggles I have faced in the past have been a part of my journey and development. 'Lockdown does mean locked in' - 90 days ago @dsbunk And I packed 1 vehicle and moved across the country so we could live in the mountains, build our dream together, grow ourselves, our business and our relationship -... One habit I've made a conscious effort with daily has been getting outside for an activity for atleast 30 minutes daily. MTB, walking, trail running, snowboarding no matter the weather. - I encourage you to 'Take 30' daily! Resilience is our ability to bounce back from the stresses of life. It’s not about avoiding the stress it’s about learning, growing and thriving within the stress. To be resilient you must work on yourself, become self aware, be mindful, implement self care, positive relationships & purpose. By strengthening these pillars, we in turn, become more resilient. Adversity is everywhere and it can strike when you are least expecting it, it might be accompanied by unpleasant, ...abnormal reactions such as anxiety, excessive worry, disappointment, grief, shame, and sadness. Moving on from or growing through a difficult or traumatic experience can be hard, but it is possible if you are willing to work on your own growth. During these difficult times you can grow, and through this it is important to learn and grow forward. Here are a few tips to get through these tough times; #1 Connect with others - schedule phone calls with friends/loved ones. #2 Accept and focus on what you can control - your health = your wealth. #3 Practice staying with the discomfort of certain emotions.
