#Airdrie Last week I challenged all council members to ask their communities to do a porch pick up food drive! This is what Williamstown and Reunion got together for the Airdrie Food Bank! How awesome are they!? We should make this a monthly challenge! All we needed to do was post on our community Facebook pages and people listed their addresses for pick up. It took less than an hour to go around and pick up everything. ... Imaging the effect you could have by dedicating one hour of your time every month to organize something like this in your area? #Airdrie in 2013 when I was first elected, we ran through my first ever City of Airdrie budget. I remember clearly stating that my fear for the 40th ave bridge over the tracks would be a "bridge to nowhere". There was no support at the time, and we were waiting on a provincial transportation study that had already identified this need. 7 years later, here we are.... I am so excited for what this project means for growth and safety within our city. The tireless efforts of The City of Airdrie and councils past/present who had the foresight and determination to keep trying year over year, and understanding that these dollars are an investment into the economic prosperity in our city for years to come. Well done.
