:: this is wonderful information regardless of what type of communicator you are. They’re the tenets I strive to observe as an educator (and always have!), but there is always room for improvement! [Image shows a tweet from Yale School of Public Health with a picture of Dr. Anthony Fauci. The text of the tweet reads: Dr Anthony Fauci lays out three ways future scientific communicators can build trust: 1) Always go by the data, 2) Admit when you don’t know something, 3) The goal is not to show how smart you are. It’s to get people to understand what you’re talking about.] #FauciAtYale

:: anybody who has worked with me knows I am obsessed! with teaching cooperative care and handling. This video is an awesome example! . . .... Posted @withregram @dropyourjawsdogtraining Your daily dose of puppy cuteness! Castor will have to go to the vet soon, and I don’t want the things that happen to him there to be a total surprise to him. In this video we are working on Castor coming up onto something, standing, and being touched by hands and a metal object in various places on his body. All skills that could be useful at the vet, and all ideas shamelessly stolen from the amazing @hannah_branigan ‘s Drinking From the Toilet podcast episode with Debbie Martin. If you have a new puppy, make sure to check that episode out immediately! As someone who has recently, impulsively adopted a puppy during a pandemic, it was full of wonderful, practical ideas to help set us up for success. During our next training session, assuming I remember to look at my plan before the session, I will start incorporating more props that Castor might expect to see at the vet clinic. #dropyourjawsdogtraining #dogsofmissouri #southeastmissouri #cooperativecare #babycastor #ittybittypitty #dogtraining #puppyskills

Hi friends! As many of you start to venture back out into the world, your dogs are going to encounter people in masks - perhaps for the first time. I made this video with my friend Sharon showing you how to help your dog acclimate to people in masks. It should be pretty easy for even the most novice trainer. Good luck, and stay healthy! https://youtu.be/DKqNxb6Z0OU
