Savez-vous reconnaƮtre la tique a pattes noires? C'est plus petit que vous pensez! Do you know how to spot and identify a Black legged deer tick? It's smaller than you think!

It is with sad news that I write this. Sunday while out with her pack, my Pixie wix had a seizure, a seizure that wouldn't stop. No vetts in this area would hel...p me to put her down,I pleaded with them, but I had to drive to Brossard to put her to sleep. Traumatic. Pixie was my Boston terrier of 13.5 yrs. She came to me at 8 mths old, a rehoming because of a move. How lucky I was! She was happiness on 4 legs I used to say, like a forest pixie/fairy. She did the darndest things. Like if Zorro didn't want to play with her she would grab whatever he was laying on and pull and tug and tug until he all but fell off, and then leave with the mat. Or how she liked to "bury" bones UNDER my pillow! a gory discovery when you go to bed unsuspecting. She also liked to stuff them in the corners of the couch. That's my Pix. She came to obedience classes and did pretty well for a dog that thought that the world revolved around her. And she was with me when I started my Zoo Therapy course, she came every month with Zorro and was so good. After Squeeker was born, we lost Zorro, and for weeks after she would always stop on our walks and look for him. Loyalty. When I took my Zoo Therapy to the schools, I would ask "is there a child in this group that absolutely has to succeed? " And more often than not, I assigned them Pixie. She was so good with them! Giving unconditional love, building confidence and self-esteem. She helped so many kids. She was good to our friend Norman Cook who loved Boston's and spoiled her rotten! She was an Embasetor for the breed and zoo therapy. She lived a good life. So I bid farewell to my Pixie wix, who will travel far to the great beyond where her manness Zorro waits to greet her. To escort her with honor, far from the cares of this world, to pause, to rest, to wait for those who are loved. Beyond is a land of eternal summer, with happiness and with youth anew. My heart is breaking, I miss you so much. I am so proud of you, so grateful I had you all these years. Goodbye, my Princess Pixie. You are wonderful..peep my love See more
