Canmore Trail Alliance

Whoohoo! Thanks Rundle Mountain Cycling Club for their generous support of the CTA and our trail programs! Looking forward to continuing our work on the new "Iliad" aka Long Loop trail at the Canmore Nordic Centre Provincial Park next summer. The 4.5 km Iliad Trail will be located between the Rundle and Meadowview ski trails and is designed to be challenging and fun with lots of elevation changes. It will be constructed predominately to blue square difficulty with black diamond sections that will have ride-around options built in. Construction began in 2020, and saw 144 volunteers dedicate over 770 hours towards building 1.5 km.

It’s that rewarding time of year when we tally all our volunteer trail care days and hours. We are always amazed at the dedication of time and effort that volunteers contribute to improving Canmore Area trails. We are very excited to share the outcomes of our 2020 CTA Trail Care season, with 204 volunteers who came out times and worked 1,476 hours. Amazing! We've got some new evening trail events over the next couple of weeks in partnership with Canmore & Area Mountain Bike Association - CAMBA. Join us for some trail maintenance work on the Montane Traverse. Fall is a beautiful time up on Montane, and what better way to enjoy it than while helping to improve the climbing switchbacks, improving trail tread, and the brushing the trail corridor!
