Every March 26 is Purple Day worldwide, a day that raises awareness for epilepsy, an often poorly understood affliction that affects millions of people across the globe. Epilepsy itself is defined as a condition of the brain that is characterized by recurrent seizures. For years, the scientific community has strived to develop treatments to prevent seizures and determine the underlying causes of epilepsy with varying degrees of success; while some patients respond well to pha...rmaceutical treatment, others present intractable epilepsy. Some people have turned to medical cannabis as an alternative to conventional pharmaceuticals when these fail. However, the scientific community has not yet arrived at any consensus regarding the efficacy of cannabis for the treatment of epilepsy. He also edited and published Rob Clarke's Hashish! in 1998, which revolutionized hashish-making worldwide. His photographs have been made into posters, calendars and trading cards, and reproduced as art, and hundreds have appeared in books by Rob Clarke, Ken Morrow, Ed Rosenthal and Jorge Cervantes. He has lectured at Oaksterdam University and judged numerous cannabis competitions in the United States and the Netherlands.
