This year, the National Holodomor Commemoration is taking place online. Thank you for joining us today for this solemn commemoration. We are co-hosting this imp...ortant event with the Embassy of Ukraine in Canada and the Canada Ukraine Parliamentary Friendship Group. Many communities will also be holding online events throughout the month of November and particularly during the #Holodomor National Awareness Week between November 23-29, 2020.

Here is another photo from the fire that destroyed our Main Street South Office 5 years ago today. If you look closely you will see the Ukrainian Flag still standing proudly surrounded by charred debris. Simply an amazing photo that shows how resilient our Ukrainian Community is. It was 5 years ago today that we lost our Main Street South location in a fire that destroyed the Dauphin Village Mall. We will never forget all those in our community who helped us relocate. Also, huge thank you to the Dauphin Fire Department who worked tirelessly that day.

On Behalf of Canada's National Ukrainian Festival we wish to send out our sincere condolences to the Family of Nestor Shydlowsky and the Ukrainian Old Timers. Nestor was a music legend and him and his band were very well known performers at the Festival for many years as well as a staple at the Community in Dauphin during the festival weekend. He will be forever missed. May his memory be eternal!
