Notice to users of Canoe Valley Recreation Centre (Updated December 8, 2020) As a result of provincial health orders, the following provisions are in place until further notice for the health and well-being of facility visitors and staff: No walk-in traffic permitted for the arena or fitness facilities. Call ahead to 250-566-4740 to book your time... Face masks are required in all areas of the facility, except when using exercise equipment Adult Team Sports are suspended until further notice, including Adult Hockey, Pond Hockey, Stick Time and Lawn Bowling Open Ice time is available by appointment. For adults this means leisure skating only. Maximum 6 people on the ice at one time If all participants for open ice time are not from the same bubble, they must all wear masks on and off ice Child and youth programs, figure skating, minor hockey, open skate (check facility for open skate times), continue. There are to be no spectators at a program for children or youth unless the presence of a spectator is necessary in order to provide care to a child or youth Thank you for your cooperation. Be kind. Be calm. Be safe.

In keeping with public health regulations, all visitors to Regional District facilities, including the Canoe Valley Recreation Centre, are advised that masks are now mandatory. Masks are not required when using exercise equipment.

In keeping with the Order of the Provincial Health Officer, effective immediately, Adult Team Sports are suspended until further notice. For the Regional District Facilities this applies to Adult... Hockey, Pond Hockey, Sticktime and Lawn Bowling. Child and youth programs, figure skating, minor hockey, open skate (check facility for open skate times), continue. Where children/youth are participating in figure skating or minor hockey, 1 parent (or designate) will be permitted to remain in the spectator area to provide dressing/undressing support to the child. PHYSICAL DISTANCING MUST BE MAINTAINED AND MASKS ARE REQUIRED. Open Ice time is available by appointment. For adults this means leisure skating only. Maximum 6 people on the ice at one time. If all participants are not from the same bubble, the participants must all wear masks on and off ice. COVID19 Orders continue to change and the Regional District and its staff are doing their best to comply with the Orders of the Public Health Officer. We understand this may mean changes without warning as we all adapt. Remember this is not forever, just for now and we will all get safely through if we all do our part. Be Kind, Be Calm, Be Safe.

Re-Opening Monday July 13th, 2020 WE ARE READY TO WELCOME YOU BACK! NEW HOURS OF OPERATION... We will be operating our facility with reduced hours, as follows: Monday-Thursday 7am-3pm Closed Friday-Sunday and Stat Holidays CALL 250-566-4740 TO BOOK, WALK-INS WILL BE PERMITTED PROVIDED MAXIMUM OCCUPANCIES HAVE NOT BEEN MET Memberships have been put on hold since our closing date of March 19th and all passes will be extended by the number of days we have been closed. If you are not comfortable with returning to our facilities yet, we will allow members to remain on hold until the end of the Calendar year, December 31st, 2020. However you may reactivate your membership at any time by simply booking your reservation at the gym. We are continuing to develop our facility safety plans and review the policy and direction of the provincial Medical Health Officer and BC’s Restart Plan. Unfortunately, we are not in a position yet to open our fitness facilities, but we hope to be soon. We will also have information available soon regarding membership options for those who held active memberships when the facility closed due to COVID-19. Thank you for your continued patience.

Canoe Valley Recreation Centre COVID-19 Update We are reviewing the guidelines to determine what procedures need to be in place to ensure the safety of our visitors and staff, especially when it comes to physical distancing within the facility as well as regular sanitizing of the equipment. We appreciate that everyone is eager to get back to using our facility as part of their active and healthy lifestyle. We will provide an update on any re-opening plans as they are confirmed.

Canoe Valley Recreation Centre 17.09.2020

For the health and safety of our customers and staff, we are taking the following steps as part of our efforts to reduce the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Effective Friday, March 20, the Canoe Valley Recreation Centre will close to the public. This closure will allow our staff to focus on deep cleaning of both facilities as well as some other maintenance work. The situation will be assessed in a few weeks to determine an appropriate time to reopen those facilities
