No matter how many times I get to install a stove jack in a tent or tarp cutting that big hole always makes me nervous. I like to get this out of the way as early possible when making a new tent. Not only does this mean less material to manoeuvre under the sewing machine but if I do mess up it means less time invested in the disaster! Merry Christmas everyone.

I’m often asked why I think bags with simple flaps and straps are better than zippers. Aside from being more flexible with the amount of gear they handle, the big plus is how wide they open up for loading. This stove bag for a Knico Alaskan shows how simple it is to fold the flaps right back to make inserting the stove much easier.

Short video about an upgrade to my toboggan bags. Looking at offering an integrated lashing system for tanks and stove bags. Took a bit of head scratching to come up with a system where the bag would stay closed when the main lashings were removed. An extra bonus is the lash system can be added to existing bags without any sewing required. https://youtu.be/6PTcqytDhZA If nothing else you’ll find out why I don’t do more product videos!

Re-stocking. More Lawson 3mm line, easier to handle with gloves in winter. Cordura in custom colours for toboggan bags and various other fabric for barrel bags, tent bags and stuff sacks.

Adding the guy line tie outs to a 12ft by 12ft canvas hammock tarp. 18 of these to sew including the panel pull out loops. Always takes longer than I think.
