(Red Cedar Base, Yellow Cedar Fin, Acylics, Abalone Shell Midden) Paul Windsor progress: 2016-2020 Du’bé g’eh is a Haislakala translation for Orca Whale Fin I most recently learned. Language is connective and very inspiring artistically and spiritually! Still learning words to our language and still learning and studying how to carve and sculpt as well as inlay abalone shell, which is a part of our artistic tradition: I began sobriety almost 6 years ago ...and this was part of the semblance of what appears on the surface and honours our Halx’inux clan: my strength and connection, dance and spirit. I find heart and soul in my identity beyond the physical. The remainder is beneath the surface. I plan to sculpt and carve out the juxtaposed remainder of what’s beneath the surface: out of cedar yet also out of life and the journey of it. Nugwa (Me) as only one of a great unified family of people who relate to this. I enjoy letting up to be creative and relax perfection. This has been a learning journey in itself. Starting to concentrate effort on carving and sculpting techniques. If it most isn’t about the right tools, it’s most about the right state of love, spirit, connection and mind. #abaloneshells and white paint sea foam will be effective once the glue sets

The SALMON BOX element of a mural I collaborated on at Killarney Secondary School, Vancouver BC: where my son @smithwindsor2006 attends. He helped me out on it some. @paulwindsornwcoast #generationhaisluk
