Health Canada has issued a proposed re-evaluation decision for Pyrethrins and associated end-use products. Pyrethrins are insecticides registered for use on a ...wide range of commercial and domestic sites including crops, livestock and companion animals. Maritime Central Ram Performance & Genetic Evaluation Program Producer Survey Program Details The Sheep Producers Association of Nova Scotia (SPANS) in cooperation with the Maritime Beef Test Society, AgSights and provincial sheep associations have teamed to offer a 2021 Central Ram Evaluation to be hosted in Nappan, Nova Scotia. This Central Ram Test is designed to provide Canadian purebred and commercial sheep producers with the necessary tools to evaluate the genetic pot...ential of their performance-tested ram(s) as breeding stock, while offering important information used to evaluate their own flocks genetic improvement program. The information generated in a Central Ram Evaluation can improve the marketability of rams and provide valuable information used as a selection tools to increase a sheep flocks productivity and profitability. On August 31st, the Government of Canada announced greater flexibility and extension of the application deadline for the Canada Emergency Business Account (CEBA). Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, the Honourable Chrystia Freeland, announced that the application deadline for the CEBA program is extended from August 31 to October 31, 2020. In addition, the government indicated that they are working closely with financial institutions to make the CEBA program availa...ble to those with qualifying payroll or non-deferrable expenses that have so far been unable to apply due to not operating from a business banking account. Further details on these changes will be released in coming days, including a new business account opening process through which qualifying businesses will be able to apply. In addition, Minister Freeland also announced that the Business Credit Availability Program (BCAP) has been extended to June 2021. Earlier this year, the Canadian Sheep Federation and Canadian Food Inspection Agency partnered in creating the CSF-CFIA Humane Transport Working Group. The group is addressing the implementation of humane transport regulations and creating tools for industry to help navigate new requirements. All training materials reflect the February 2020 regulatory changes to the humane transportation requirements under the Health of Animals Regulations. ...
