One of the most important lessons I’ve learned over the past decade is how crucial your body’s natural immune system is to your overall well-being. Here are some interesting facts I’ve learned... A child’s immune system isn’t fully developed until the age of 6. ... Your first line of defense is the good bacteria found on your skin. Many antibacterial soaps & sanitizing products destroy this good bacteria. Your gut flora (good bacteria) accounts for approximately 80% of your natural immune function. Antibiotics (found in meats & milk) and many medications (antacids, antidepressants, blood pressure, etc...) can destroy your gut flora (good bacteria). It takes 6-12 months for your body to rebuild your gut flora from one round of antibiotics and it’s possible that your gut may never return to normal. Bottom line... You can become too clean! Ten years ago today, we said goodbye to a baby we never held - yet loved so deeply already. As a gift and in honour of Shiloh*, I created this video (link in bio - a friend had also lost her son/written this song) to help my heart heal - and be a blessing to many other mamas who had to say goodbye too quickly And, we are often reminded of our three babies in heaven...even today, someone innocently asked (when they saw our 4 girls), ... Oh - you’re going to try for a BOY, right?! To which we kindly smiled + responded w our typical, well, we have 6 - if not 7 girls, so we are pretty sure God will continue giving us girls Love you dearly, Shiloh Eli. You are missed + thought of often. Happiest 10th bday, little one And Jesus, hug our babies once for us today, please. *Shiloh was the place where Hannah gave her child back to the Lord.
