Our swim program builds upon skills learned at previous stations. One of the great beauties of ‘SwimAmerica’ program is its adaptability to the needs of each individual student of swimming. It is not the mission of this program to identify any one method as the only way to perform a stroke. To force a student to fit some imaginary ‘ideal’ would not only be wrong but it would be next to impossible. My goal is for students to be able to swim long distances with correct techniques while having a full exchange of air which will not make them tired and in danger if they need to get to land if unintentionally put into the water. This will save their life in the future. - Coach Nathan

We did It!!! Today we dared and accomplished what we set to do. Our swimmers are back in the water excited to learn again. Parents couldn’t be happier and we thank them for their confidence in us. You cannot be hopeful if you are filled with fear. We chose hope as we cannot be socially isolated. With hope we will get through this together. This too shall pass.

On August 9, 2020 we will return back to our program of teaching kids and adults. We cannot wait for life to return to normal and waste our quality time. Here is something from Swimming Canada Natation - COVID-19 has a fragile lipid outer membrane, and is therefore extremely sensitive to soaps and oxidants, such as chlorine. According to Disease Control, there is no evidence that COVID-19 can be spread to humans through the use of pools, hot tubs or spas. Proper operation ...maintenance, disinfection with chlorine or bromine of pools should inactivate the virus (CDC 202). A related corona virus which caused the SARS epidemic in 2003 was found to be inactivated by UV treatment and disinfectants. Provincial & Municipal Public Health Information & guidelines must be respected at all times. BYLAW 19408 - Effective August 1, 2020, wearing a mask or face covering has become mandatory in all indoor public places & public vehicles. Person found in violation of the offence under this bylaw 19408 may be issued a violation ticket and person found guilty of an offence under this bylaw is liable to a fine in an amount not less than $100.

"Let the coach be the coach". Always communicate with coach. Remember coaches have a passion for this sport and do it for a living. You do swimming all for fun and satisfaction for your children. The coach does it as a profession. Be considerate to a few things: His knowledge and expertise are his most valuable resources. Coaching profession in swimming is vastly underpaid yet many are in this profession for their sheer passion in this sport and the sacrifices they make for t...oday's youth to teach a life saving skill, will prevent drowning. The most important part of your child's swimming experience is that they learn about themselves while enjoying the sport. This healthy environment encourages learning and fun which will develop a positive self-identity within your child. Your child is still learning so be careful not to impose your requirements and ambitions as they will do it themselves as they progress. No one likes to make a mistake. If your child does make one, remember that he/she is still learning. Boost your child’s efforts and point out the things they did well. As long as they gave the best effort, you should make them feel like a winner. The best way to help a child achieve their ambitions and reduce the natural fear of failure is through positive support. As a parent, show your interest by encouraging your child to continue classes. Your job is to provide a supportive and positive environment which will contribute to the child’s success as you all are role models and your attitudes are often imitated by children. Most importantly, show good sportsmanship at all times towards the coach and officials.
