Due to COVID-19 the New Zealand Consulate, Vancouver will not be doing in-person or postal voting. There are 3 easy steps to voting in the 2020 general election and referendums: Visit www.vote.nz for all the info! Before the election, update your enrolment details.... From Wednesday 30 September (NZ time), download and complete your voting papers. Upload your completed voting papers, by 7pm Saturday 17 October (NZ time). Your voting papers will include full information on how to return them. If you have any questions please visit Vote NZ, or contact the Electoral Commission at +64 9 909 4182. You can also contact the New Zealand Consulate, Vancouver at +1 604 684 7388.

Australian education provider partners with Canadian University Navitas, an Australian-based education provider, announced a ten year partnership with Ryerson University in Toronto and the establishment of Ryerson University International College (RUIC). The college will provide a pathway program for international students into Ryerson. This is Navitas’s third college in Canada, joining Fraser International College (Simon Fraser University) in Vancouver and the International College of Manitoba (University of Manitoba) in Winnipeg which together welcomed more than 3,000 new international students from 90 countries in 2019. https://www.navitas.com/newsroom/story/550.

Dear Members and CANZBA followers I hope this message finds you well. We have all been faced with trying times over the last month due to the COVID-19 outbreak, and while everyone continues to adjust to this ‘new normal’, we have had to make some adjustments here at CANZBA.... Our upcoming ANZAC Day event, hosted in conjunction with the Australian and New Zealand Consulates in Vancouver, has unfortunately been cancelled due to the obvious restrictions on public gatherings. We remain committed to our CANZBA Conversations series of events, which we intend to resume in an online format in order to continue to provide a place for our members to connect and share stories, particularly in this unusual and difficult time. Stay tuned for an announcement about our very first virtual CANZBA Conversations event. Thank you for your loyalty and continued support to us during this period. We look forward to welcoming you at our new online events, and having our community connecting in new and different ways.
