Young male Dickcissel at our feeder in Sand Lake.
The Cackling Goose is hanging out in the Hub field for the last few days with a few hundred Canada Geese.
This is a russet variant female or a young male Pine Grosbeak.
We found this Brant in the Hub Field today. The occational fire cracker going off kept the Canada Geese alert and very nervous. No doubt fireworks tonight will mix things up. We will see tomorrow what ends up where.
In this short video one pine grosbeak sings and then the second bird sings just before it flies away.
The Cackling Goose was back at the same pond today. Here is another video. The other ducks in the video really give you perspective on how small this goose is.
We had 2 Pine Grosbeaks feeding on chokeberries today. Their beaks and feathers were getting stained with the juice. This video is of a female. We will post a few more videos of a russet variant female or possibly a young male.
