A few years ago I started following Design Indaba. Totally inspiring to see so many creative young people making a difference. This is a young South African designer who has had some of her work form part of the permanent collection of the renowned Musée des Arts Décoratifs (MAD) in Paris, France.
Very excited about the interest in South Africa in 2022. The new dates 2 October - 14 October, 2022 is selling well. There are 10 spaces with 6 already sold. I took the picture below at Waterford Estates. One of the vineyards we will visit.
While in Cape Town on the Art & Wine Tour you will be able to check out this great urban park. It is on the V&A Waterfront which is our home base for our nights in Cape Town before heading off to Stellenbosch to check out a number of the particularly wonderful wineries and vineyards. The park is both a respite for locals and also reveals some of the history of this vibrant waterfront.
This could be your lunch company on the pre-tour wildlife safari if you opt in for this very exciting add-on while before the tour in and around Cape Town. This video was shot at the safari lodge we will stay in for 3 nights.
Where in the world is Toba? Thanks to @bcwinetasting for your inspiration to bring my favourite yellow lab into my Instagram posts. Your dog is an awesome super model. #travelnowwiththeresa #travel_now_with_theresa #toba #witwit #theresabobrowsky #theresaatdeparturestravelsidney #theresaatdeparturestravel #mountainsofinstagram
Small group travel, or travel bubbles, are a growing norm. The Cape Town Art, Wine & Design journey is a perfect option for late 2021. Grab your favourite friends, travel companions and start planning for this great journey. Ask me about it.
5 December 2013 is a day I remember vividly. The passing of one of my favourite human beings. What he did for humanity is extraordinary. #theresabobrowsky #travelnowwiththeresa #travel_now_with_theresa #capetownartwinedesign #madiba #greatleaders
The Cape wine country is interesting for many reasons. One of these is the spectacular visual experience on any wine tour, combining sandstone mountains rugged and steep, narrow valleys and of course, beautifully manicured vineyards. And then there are the wines themselves, which are delicious beyond any description of them. Every year, a number of competitions rate our wines, blind-tasted. I am always amazed and delighted to discover several inauspicious, unheralded brands f...eaturing amongst the highly renowned and much acclaimed labels for which the consumer must pay a small fortune. The accompanying picture celebrates just such an achievement by the Windmeul brand, a mass-production co-operative cellar just forty five minutes from Cape Town. Why pay US50 for an excellent Pinotage, when you can enjoy another in the prestigious SA Top 10 for just US9?
It has been a while since I have posted about this wonderful small group tour. Since my last post there have been numerous positive changes for travellers. 1). Cape Town and South Africa is open for business (must provide negative COVID-19). 2). COVID-19 Pandemic insurance is available to travellers now covering up to $1,000,000 million emergency medical coverage for COVID-19. 3) vaccines are expected to be deployed prior to the tour date... Why this trip? Cape Town is an incredible, vibrant and inspiring city. The art reveals a rich and at times tumultuous history. The wine (and food) is world class. The landscape is spectacular. The trip itself will reveal the intricacies of this incredible area. A very small group of just 10 travellers will enjoy this intimate and private tour program. We will travel with the same guide throughout the tour. A nurse will travel with the group. And we will get insider access at all the venues. This is great for a first time trip to Africa or for those travellers who want to dig in deeper away from typical tourist attractions.
Yet another reason the Hout Bay Gallery is included in the Cape Town: Art, Wine and Design Safari. This is such a vibrant and exciting art venue. https://www.instagram.com/p/CFwon9wpeCw/
