CAPUMA was thrilled to attend this year's BCITMA Virtual Conference yesterday! We want to thank our friends at BCITMA for inviting us! From student competitions, workshops and speakers, every aspect of the conference was very engaging. Thank you to President Emily Benson, VP Anita Hsiao, and the rest of the BCITMA folks for organizing the entire conference. The conference focused on advocating for sustainability on social and environmental causes. All of speakers encouraged ...students to promote and embrace sustainability and philanthropy in a company setting. We're proud of our efforts for this years competitions, as we placed 1st in the mini case competition, and 3rd in both the backpack and SABRE simulation! Last week, Cap U students from Richard Hill's BMKT 261 Advertising class were given the opportunity to virtually present their ad agency pitch project to the executive members of the EE Football Team organization. The group of students, known by their mockup agency name "5 Spades Marketing", rebranded the team as the Edmonton Elk for their ad campaign project , and presented their pitch to the marketing executives of The EE Football Team. The group consisted of: Jacky Ingl...is, Dalya Al-Iheebi, Utkan Yalcinkaya, CAPUMA Case Member Jasluv Brar, and CAPUMA President Terrence Alanis. Along with Professor Hill, Capilano School of Business Chair Tammy Towill also watched and supported the students' presentation. Congratulations to 5 Spades Marketing on this amazing opportunity, and thank you to Richard Hill and Tammy Towill for supporting these student marketers and CAPUMA!

Congratulations to our case team, who have successfully submitted their case for the 2020-2021 AMA Case Competition last week! Coach by our faculty advisor, Andrea Eby, the team spent months on end working and researching for this year's AMA case team client: PODS. We want to wish the best of luck for our case team, as their case submission will go up against other AMA collegiate chapters in this year's Case Competition!

In the midst of everything that has been recently happening, some great news for the team. CAPUMA, while competing against 350+ collegiate chapters, has been able to receive several awards since Sep 2019. 1-) The first award which was recently given by the AMA to CAPUMA was Small Chapter of the Year Award in recognition for its dedication and quality work 2-) The Case Competition Team was able to achieve the position of semi-finalist ... 3-) There were three CAPUMA semifinalists in the Outbound Sales Competition 4-) Second place in Faculty Market Place Simulation way to go team! Presenting the marketers of the month for September and October. September’s marketer of the month is Linh Ha, and October’s marketer of the month is Sierra Siciliano! Linh is a business administration student and a student liaison of CAPUMA. Since the fall semester, Linh has done phenomenal work with her internship with OLOGY, a startup company focused on inspiring people to strive for more than what is considered "reasonable", and to create a positive influence that helps ...people live their lives truly. Sierra is a business administration student and is the team lead for the 2020-2021 AMA case team. Her leadership skills, preparation, and dedication towards AMA’s case competition have helped this year’s case team reach various objectives as the deadline for the AMA case competition moves closer. Congratulations to both Linh and Sierra for their outstanding efforts!
