COVID-19 Update: We hope that everyone is staying safe and healthy during this stressful time, and following the guidelines on handwashing and physical distancing. Model railway modellers are eternal optimists: each new building, piece of rolling stock or redesigned track is just what we need to make our layouts even better. The organizers of the Capital Region Model Railway Tour (http://capitaltrains.ca) are hopeful that the outbreak will be sufficiently under control in tim...e for us to present the 2020 Tour on Saturday, October 17th , 2020 as planned. The organizing team is meeting electronically and we are encouraging our Layout Hosts to commit to the Tour as soon as possible. The practical aspects of organizing the Tour demand that we set August 15 th as our decision day. If all levels of government and the public health authorities announce an all clear and remove restictions on groups and travel before that date, the Capital Region Model Railway Tour will be held on Saturday, October 17th , 2020. Today's featured layout: http://capitaltrains.ca/delaware-and-hudson-adirondack-bra/ The Adirondack Branch of the Delaware & Hudson Railroad depicts the traffic patterns of a branch line in the state of New York from Saratoga to Sanford Lake. The 221 foot (67 m) mainline links three modelled towns. The layout has a consistent high degree of finish with the scenery, structures, motive power and rolling stock placing the viewer into the time and place depicted. The owner especially emphasizes realistic railroad operations - modelling a balanced flow of traffic, scheduling trains, etc

Today's featured layout: Buckingham Vallée http://capitaltrains.ca/buckingham-vallee/ The layout comprises a rural section, an industry section, a section with an operating bascule bridge and a hydroelectric dam. The rural section is 100% complete, with lots of details (lights in the houses, street lights).
