Seal your deck! Now that we're entering spring, it's important to make sure your existing decks are in good shape going into the summer. Use a roller to apply the sealer to the decking, covering three or four boards at a time. Use brushes and small rollers for railings, planters, and benches. Don’t let the sealant dry or puddle. Two thin coats is better than one thick one.

See if you need small DIY repairs, or major replacements. If you notice anything major, you may want to consult a professional.
