Please visit the link for an informative resource guide for seniors that was developed by City of Greater Sudbury. The Capreol Lions this year created a Seniors Advocate position in order for us to better respond to the needs of seniors and to allow us to have a voice in our Club who speaks for them. https://www.greatersudbury.ca//resource-guide-for-seniors/

The Capreol Lions would like to remind our Community that WE have purchased nutritious frozen meals that include a dessert as well as a soup from Meals on Wheels. WE invite any senior, person who was recently injured who anyone who could use a hand up, mother just returning home after giving birth or someone who can benefit from Meals on Wheels to contact Lion Linda at 705-858-7329. Please if you, a family member or someone you know can use a hand up by receiving one of these... frozen meals WE invite you to share this information with them. WE as a Club felt it very important to have a supply of nutritious meals especially since there is another lockdown or in case someone really needs a meal. By investing in Meals on Wheels WE will now have a response to ensure no one goes hungry. Click on the photo to see the type of meals, soups and desserts available while supplies last. Another part of this initiative is that WE will hand out information about Meals on Wheels and their wonderful service. Thank you for liking and sharing our posts as this is how the word travels through the Community.

The Capreol Lions wish everyone in the Community of Capreol a prosperous New Year filled with hope, love, happiness and cheer. Thank you Capreol it was a very different kind of year filled with challenges and hardship, but your support for the Lions never wavered. WE are proud to serve this Community and look forward to another year where WE ensure wherever there is a need there is a Lion.

Capreol Lions Club 27.12.2020

2020 has been a challenging year for everyone including the Capreol Lions Club. WE have found ways during this year to still serve Capreol and have embraced new technology to help us meet as well as stay active for our Community. WE thank our Community for their support during this year from coming out to our Safe Halloween, to supporting the Lion Hunt, participating in the kids helping kids, as well as making donations to our Club so WE can continue our Christmas gift card p...rogram. WE look forward to 2021 allowing things to be a bit more normal again and also for more events WE will bring to our Community. BUT WE NEED YOU, our Club needs more Lions so WE can continue to serve this community. Our numbers took a dip this year due to COVID but WE know there are more Community minded people who wish to help their community and WE ask you to join us to ensure the Lions Club remains active in Capreol. The Capreol Lions have been here since 1964 a true legacy of service that will only continue if WE get some more members! Meeting are every Third Tuesday of the Month with Board Meeting the first Tuesdays of every month. All it takes to be a Lions is some time, the desire to make a difference and a sponsor which can be any Lion (you can start by messaging us on Facebook). Happy Holiday Season to you all and a Prosperous New Year as well!

It’s the MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR!!! The spirit of giving was on full display on Saturday as the Lion’s Elves and their helpers were out delivering gifts to families who had a donation to the infant food bank. In exchange the Lion elves gave the children who participated in this project celebrating the sprit of giving, a small Christmas gift in exchange. Over 20 children were registered and participated in this wonderful event that created smiles as well as gathered so...me important supplies for the infant food bank. Truly WE are blessed to have the kind of community that cares and understands the power of giving that adds to the meaning of the season as the best gifts are not always the ones under the tree. The Capreol Lions would like to thank: Northway Bus Lines, Miss. Galaxy Sarah Edmunds, Roxanne, Willow, JJ, Leila, Dedee Flietsra Executive director of the Sudbury Pregnancy Care/Infant Food bank and all the other helpers who made this possible including Lion Jocelyn and Julie the youth advocate team. WE are very proud of the Children who participated in our Kids giving to Kids project and perhaps this will start one of these sharing children on their personal journey to becoming Santa Claus!

Santa Claus came to the town of Capreol to read letters from girls and boys, so click the link and enjoy a bit of Jolly St. Nick before Christmas. https://www.sudbury.com//watch-no-santa-visits-this-year-s

The annual tradition of the Santa Lion continues in Capreol this Saturday. The Capreol Lions will be getting their allotment of toys from tonight’s Lions Telethon this week, which means WE will be delivering the toys to kids and families who need a hand up at Christmas Saturday December 12th. WE thank M&R Grill and The Firehouse Bar and Grill for putting up a donation tree in their establishments to collect toys for Santa Lion. This long standing tradition is near and dear t...o the Lions as it truly makes Christmas special for some families who need a hand up. WE thank everyone who tunes in and donates to the Lions telethon and personally to our Club as without this support many kids would not have a toy for Christmas. So keep an eye out on the streets next Saturday because you just might catch a glimpse of Santa Lion and his elves delivering toys in Capreol...ho.ho..ho..ROAR!!

Capreol Lions Club 16.11.2020

Reminder the Telethon is tonight. Please support this long standing Sudbury tradition as the proceeds go towards toys for Children in the NORTH who need a hand up. Each Lions Club gets toys from the telethon and WE go through our community to deliver them, it truly is a special time of year.
