Co-op Work Experience SNAPSHOT Student: Jiali Sun I am learning so much during my co-op as Librarian at the Jianggan District Library. It is extremely hard to find a period of time to only read but not doing any other things during my daily life, and I am able to spend some time reading something I am interested. Meanwhile, it is such a great place to develop my communication and creative thinking skills while holding events. #coopworks #CapUTourism #BCTourismmatters
Co-op Work Experience SNAPSHOT Student: Mariana Luna After several months of uncertainty, I am beyond happy at how my co-op experience turned out. I have been working as a Front Desk Agent for Worldmark by Wyndham in Whistler since the beginning of July. It has been great to apply the skills I have learnt in the Tourism program while also gaining new ones. With Whistler being a top tourist destination and classes being held remotely, I hope to stay until next year fostering c...onnections, learning about opportunities in the area and, of course, skiing! Although COVID-19 has affected us all in many ways, it has been inspiring to see how the industry, specifically business’ like Worldmark, have adapted and moved forward in these crazy times!" #coopworks #CapUTourism #BCTourismmatters See more
Retired CBC news anchor Peter Mansbridge calls on Canadians to travel the country this summer to support the struggling local businesses and the tourism industry. Tourism employs 1 in 10 Canadians and Canadians spend $36 billion on international tourism last year. Peter invites Canadians to imagine the influence just half of that could have on the small businesses around Canada. Discover how nice Canada is by travelling locally and have a great summer. https://youtu.be/T1EtusMMazc
