My turn to read for 40 Nights of the voice -Tribute to the brilliant Kamau Brathwaite. I chose Hex which is from his book motherpoem. In it the mother puts a hex on the plantation. It is a ritual curse. It seemed appropriate in a moment when the effects of the contemporary plantation are being keenly enacted.
