This life is mine alone. So I have stopped asking people for directions to places they've never been. I used to spend every day doing only the things I knew others wanted me to do, think the thoughts I was lead to think, and to be someone others needed me to be. And I’m referring to almost anyone that was around me fyi. Everyone who needed me to be that weak ass person. I masked my emptiness & low self esteem (not very well) until I saw who became uncomfortable with the big t...hings I was finally taking control of in my life. The people who needed old Cara to stay the same. But I NEEDED ME MORE. I needed to find my own way, to stop consulting those around me that had no idea where my life was taking me. Shes’s changed She’s different She’s selfish Said the stagnant ones who don’t understand the importance of personal growth. I became a leader, not a follower... I found a way to turn my passion for helping others into a career, and I gave my children a roll model I am proud of... and I found someone to share my life with that encourages me in all my crazy ideas of who I can be! Once I stopped asking input on my moves, I found I was pretty good at figuring out who and what I am... and the only people who I take a page from now, are people who I admire for blazing their own trails too. So stop asking for permission in life. Stop doing things just to have approval from others, because I assure you... once you embrace your own value, talents, and strengths, it neutralizes the sting of when others think less of you. @selahandpsalms @kassandradakus
