Caravan Theatre 14.01.2021

31 years ago Dec. 6, 14 women were killed in an act of gender violence at a Montreal university. The call from the university in my hometown of Wolfville has gone out to share. This is what I'm sharing: Captain of My Ship started as a spoken word piece and developed into a physical theatre performance. The genesis for this piece came as I watched the amazing documentary "The Mask You Live In" about how boys are socialized into repressing their emotions and feeling contempt for women. Or objectifying women. The Virgin Whore is the curse young women live with. #16days, #orangetheworld, and #AcadiaDec6 https://youtu.be/ejYwwaV6btY

Tonight in the Dartmouth Commons at 6:30pm 4:48 Psychosis, by radical and influential British playwright Sarah Kane, takes a deep dive into issues of mental health and suicide. Check out @caravantheatre_ns for more info on their shows happening in Truro, Wolfville, Lunenburg, and Chester! #Halifaxfringe2020 #liveoutdoortheatre
