The Tuesday Mixed League and Friday Cash are good to go! Another day/shift can be put on if we get more interest YBC has spots available but I need to hear from last years group are you bowling or not?

Let me tell you all about a few other things that happened today at the Westman meeting. There was a little bit of talk about tournaments; Youth Challenge; thi...s year the Zones will happen in your very own bowling alley !!! For only $45 the future of bowling will compete during the week of Nov 30 - Dec 6 for the chance at being a representative at provincials and scholarships. The Manitoba Open; the format has changed to a buy in. Which means there are no zones - you buy your spot in provincials and go head to head with the province’s best for 18 games. More details to follow. The Manitoba 220 and Hi/Lo have not been set as of yet (still working on a few partics) and as with all of these tournaments, they can change so flexibility is going to be the key to successful bowling this season. A discussion was held about a reimbursement for the Open bowlers as the provincial event did not take place. The decision was made not to issue any kind of reimbursement or credit. As the extra charge paid by the bowlers was used for the plaques, shirts and administrative processing. We also found out that the time has come to say goodbye to a very recognizable face in M5. Bob Wilson has decided to step down as technical director for the association. Thanks Bob for all your hard work over the years. Roger Gosselin has taken on the role of technical director. See more

Aug 30th marked the start of another planning season for 5 pin bowling in Westman. This year is still filled with lots of uncertainty, but a few things are wor...ked out and here is a sample; Killarney; will be ready to start bowling Sept 21st. The Shamrock Bowling Centre will be reaching out to your league shortly with further details. Brandon; will start welcoming its bowlers back on Sept 14th. There are a few changes that have taken place, bowlers will have to sign 3 waivers this year in order to participate and the two bigger leagues (Monday Night Provincial Mixed and Wednesday Night Mixed) are going to be running in two shifts on their respective nights. Your league executive will be in touch with more info. Something new that will be happening at the Brandon centre this year is TODDLER TIME !!! This is for kids 2 to 5 yrs old and runs for six weeks. Reach out to tbirds for more information on how it works and the fun your kids can have. Carberry; as no official start date has been set for the Carberry house, you can bet that Sylvia is working behind the scenes to make it a safe and fun return. On a different note: Jerry has announced this will be his last season on the board and as such the WM5PBA executive will be looking for someone to fill his boots as Finance Chair.
