Cardigan Communities Development Association 13.08.2020

Hi everyone, Just a correction on the last post, we have a permit to allow 30 people to attend the meeting, not 50. We are not at that number yet, but we would like to correct this! Everyone who has sent a message or has commented is still confirmed to be attending. Sorry for the confusion!

Cardigan Communities Development Association 10.08.2020

We have good news! Our application for a permit to allow for up to 30 people to attend the meeting next Wednesday at the fire hall has been approved! Please do let us know if you plan on attending so that we can print enough agendas and have enough seating for everyone. In the next few days we will post our agenda here on Facebook for the meeting. Thank you for your interest everyone!

We will keep you updated as to whether or not it gets approved. The CCDA encourages and appreciates all productive feedback at our meetings and we are hoping to have everyone attend in person who wishes to do so!

Hi everyone, Unfortunately we have no more spots left for people to attend the meeting on September second. Just a reminder that we will have a live stream and would love to have people participate online!

Hi everyone, At the AGM held in June, the idea of a meeting to elect new board members was brought up. Unfortunately, due to by-law 5 of the constitution, this meeting can not be held. The election of new board members can only be done at the AGM according to this part of the constitution. This being said, we are planning to hold a quarterly meeting in September. Hope to see you all then!

Hi everyone, Just a little update on our community garden, plots 3 and 4 have been taken! There are still plots available, so if you or anyone you know would like one, please contact us by phone at +1 (902) 330-6900 or sign up at the post office in Cardigan. We have also recently planted 4 milkweed plants that are now home to 4 monarch butterflies, how gorgeous!

The CCDA have found the constitution and related documents, and distributed them to a those who attended our last meeting , and posted them on our Facebook site. With phase 4 of the opening up process coming up shortly, where there will likely be room for larger groups, we can now look at our next meeting, and invite more members to join and elect more board members. We can try to set a date in July for our next meeting. We will post this date on our Facebook and at the Cardigan post office. Please let CCDA know if that is acceptable and we will tentatively set the date with in the next couple of weeks. Again we invite new members in the C0A 1G0 to join us, with their thoughts, and ideas for our area. Please use our Facebook site, or email [email protected] Your opinion counts, thank you.

Hello, Weve made accommodations for five more people to join us at the Heritage Center this evening. If you would like to attend, please comment on THIS post. We will still live stream the event. Note: Wed also like to let everyone know that we will not be electing any new board members at this meeting since it is unlikely we will have our full quorum. Cardigan Communities Development Association 24.02.2020

Cardigan Communities Development Association is a registered non profit organization in good standing within the Province of PEI. CCDA's objective is to provide a vehicle to improve our communities by identifying issues and projects through a democratic public voting procedure by adult residents of Cardigan and surrounding areas in the C0A 1G0 postal zone. Our democratic, one resident, one vote system applies to all our decisions, where the majority rules. CCDA will then prop...erly represent your decisions to government and funding agencies to move forward. CCDA has been in existence for over 30 years and has produced, among with other smaller projects, development of the Cardigan waterfront, marina, Heritage center, and Canada's smallest library. We hold semi monthly well attended meetings where residents are always given the opportunity to discuss community projects, ideas, comments, environmental issues, and any subject to improve our communities. The CCDA is a vital community group that can identify these issues with the input of area residents. Community groups like ourselves are an integral part of the new Three Rivers amalgamation. The CCDA developed it's own Facebook site to keep residents abreast of current and past developments. CCDA will be offering an independent survey in early March , on line for residents, to consider and vote upon. It will be designed in a simple yes or no format. This fully democratic method gives every adult resident an opportunity to state their position on any subject that has been brought up. This impartial survey will be available on line in early March from our Facebook site. The results will be posted shortly after our next meeting on Thursday, April 23rd at 7 pm at Cardigan Fire Hall , seniors room. You may also complete the survey in person at this meeting. NOTE: Only Island residents with the postal code C0A1G0 will be able to complete this survey. CCDA wants to hear from you. We appreciate your participation moving forward. Thank you.
