With everything going on and life so busy, sometimes you forget that we do it for the flowers, the most beautiful and delicate thing on earth. Easter Lilies were early this year #erythroniumoregonum #fawnlily #easterlily #nativeplants #gardening #vancouverplanting #vancouverlandscaping #landscapervancouver #carletonlandscaping #easter #blooms #flowers #plants #dogtoothviolet

The days are getting darker. Low voltage LED landscape lighting makes it nice to come home to when it’s dark at 5pm. One of our recent Lighting Jobs this Fall. The clients are very happy with everything and we are planning the backyard next #landscapelighting #beforeandafter #lowvoltagelighting #lowvoltageledlandscapelighting #nightlighting #frontyard #home #garden #homeandgarden #hgtv #landscaping #landscapersvancouver #vancouverlandscapers #carletonlandscaping

Landscape lighting has never been more energy efficient with long lasting LED lamps And the option to use warm white 2700K colour temperatures to lessen our impact on night insects and wild life. Here we are setting up a free demo for a residence in Burnaby so they can try before they buy #landscapelighting #led #lowvoltageledlandscapelighting #vancouverlandscapers #vancouver #landscapervancouver #gardenervancouver #homeandgarden #gardendiy #nightlighting #arealights #pathlights #carletonlandscaping

I asked the leaf whether it was frightened because it was autumn and the other leaves were falling. The leaf told me, "No. During the whole spring and summer I ...was completely alive. I worked hard to help nourish the tree, and now much of me is in the tree. I am not limited by this form. I am also the whole tree, and when I go back to the soil, I will continue to nourish the tree. So I don’t worry at all. As I leave this branch and float to the ground, I will wave to the tree and tell her, 'I will see you again very soon'." That day there was a wind blowing and, after a while, I saw the leaf leave the branch and float down to the soil, dancing joyfully, because as it floated it saw itself already there in the tree. It was so happy. I bowed my head, knowing that I have a lot to learn from the leaf. ~ Thich Nhat Hanh [Image: William Smith]

I had a lovely correspondence with renowned ethnobotanist Dr. Nancy Turner, and talking about Spring bank clover learned it was almost extirpated from Victoria, save for one amazing individual Fiona Chambers who grew it amd started handing bags of dormant root of the plant to residents who lived around Clover Point, Victoria, where it was last seen growing wild in 1991 (my birthday!) and since disappeared with concrete. Going further down the rabbit hole, I now want to have f...olks on the mainland plant it. I know of only one site we manage that I have planted it in Burnaby. Back in 2017 I also planted it into the @gardenworks Lougheed learning garden for their native plant display, but I think by now it must’ve been replaced as their focus has shifted away from native plants. https://www.jamesbaybeacon.com//7/4/eating-the-neighbourho #nativeplants #restoration #rareplants #extirpation #trifolium See more
