Carleton Place Soccer Club 03.05.2021

We are happy to announce that we have opened up registration for the Youth Spring/Summer 2021 season! Due to the uncertainty of possible provincial restrictions, we are, for now, just doing a "soft" registration. What that means is you are able to register and secure your child's spot, but we are not accepting payments at this time. The reason we are doing this as we may need to modify our season, and our registration fees, depending on any restrictions the province and Onta...rio Soccer implement. Once we get closer to the start of the season, we will confirm the fees and let you know that you are now able to complete your registration with one of our regular payment methods. Please consider registering early, as this also helps us better plan for the upcoming season in these unpredictable times. Register here: https://cpsoccer.powerupsports.com/ When checking out, the only payment option available is "office payment". Please select that option to complete checkout. This will allow the balance to sit on your account until we have confirmed everything. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, or if you need any assistance with registration, please don't hesitate to reach out!

We wanted to send you all a quick update regarding the upcoming 2021 outdoor season. Last night, the board had a meeting to discuss our plan for the spring/summer season. In normal times, registration would already be underway, spring tryouts and training would already be booked, and we would all be gearing up to get our players back out onto the fields after a long winter. Unfortunately, theses are not normal times, so we have found ourselves in a position of needing to be a... lot more fluid. That being said, the board has decided to plan for the best, prepare for the worst. We will soon be opening up registration for the 2021 season, but it will be a "soft" registration, meaning players will only be reserving their place. We will not be collecting any fees until we are able to firm up details regarding start dates, if there will be any restrictions on number of players, and if scrimmages will be permitted. We are also still waiting to hear if the development and competitive leagues will be running at all. At present, we are planning on using the same fee structure from last year, so no increases. We will be sending out an email once our soft registration is open. Please consider registering early, as it will help us plan the season better, in terms of numbers. As always, if you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out. PS - We are still actively seeking volunteers to fill our treasurer and Timbits director board positions. If you, or anyone you know is interested, please let us know ASAP!

Good day! We are pleased to announce that registration is officially open for fall/winter youth development. Register Here!... https://cpsoccer.powerupsports.com/index.php The season will be starting the week following Thanksgiving (the week of the 12th) and will be running until the end of February. We will be adhering to Ontario Soccer's return to play guidelines, as well as all public health guidelines. We are implementing a controlled entrance/exit procedure, which includes attendance sheets for contact tracing. Masks are to be worn at all times until players enter the field, and we are asking that all players refer to the symptom checklist at home, before coming to each session. At this time, we will not be allowing any parents or spectators, due to capacity limits, with the exception of the U6 and U7 players, who will be allowed 1 parent to assist them on any necessary breaks. If the capacity limits change, we will revisit this. All players will be receiving their own individual ball and pinnies, which they will be responsible for and required to bring to each session. To really make this successful, we will be requiring volunteers to assist with coaching and assisting (we pay for all required training), sign-ins and sign-outs, and wiping down surfaces between groups. If you are at all able to assist, please reach out ASAP and let us know! Thank you everyone, for all of your patience! We look forward to seeing you soon! Good morning. We hope this post finds you and your family in good health and spirits. As you are aware, all soccer activities have been suspended since March due to the spread of the covid virus. Ontario Soccer and the EODSA have been working hard on a return to play strategy, which has been extremely difficult, due to the uncertainty we all face in these unprecedented times.... Ontario Soccer has implemented a 3 phase "return to Soccer" plan, and we are currently in Phase 1. It would allow us to train with up to 10 players, but also comes with a long list of requirements, including temperature checks at fields, logging of all attendance at all soccer activities, among many others. Phase 2 would have allowed inter club scrimmages, Phase 3 would have allowed actual games. We have not been given any assurances that we will get to Phase 3 this summer. Further to this the GLSL (the recreational league we play in), has decided to cancel their summer season. After contemplating and discussing the information that we have, the board has made the difficult decision to cancel all soccer activities for the summer season. This means we will not be running any adult, youth or Timbits teams, in any leagues, this summer. We understand that many will be disappointed by this decision, but we felt that this was the only way to truly keep our players, volunteers, referees, and our families safe. Based on the information we have been given to date, we don't feel that we could give you, our member, an enjoyable soccer experience this summer. We will continue to monitor the situation, and we're looking at different options for the upcoming indoor season. There is no need to e-mail or ask for a refund, refunds are being issued automatically. We do ask for your patience in this process as it will take time to work through all the registrations. We will be issuing full refunds for all adult, youth recreational, and Timbits players. Competitive and developmental players will be issued a full refund, minus the tryout fee of $20 or $30 depending on age group. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out. Thank you and stay safe! Kevin Wagorn President - Carleton Place Soccer Club

We have received an update from Ontario Soccer (see below) regarding the summer 2020 season. They have extended the suspension of all sanctioned in-person activities until the end on June. We expected this extension would happen since the city of Ottawa announced the closure of all fields until the end of June. We are still hopeful that a season will happen, but obviously, it will be starting late. If you were planning on registering but have not yet done so, we would like t...Continue reading
