"The 1964 @Lincoln Continental underwent its first mid-cycle redesign. Alongside styling updates, several functional changes were focused towards increasing rear-seat space. The recessed rear grille was replaced by a much simpler decklid with trim panel (moving the fuel-filler door to the left-rear fender). The interior was completely revised with a full-width instrument panel, updated upholstery patterns, door panels and fittings." #tbt #throwback #Lincoln #Continental

"Dubbed the "Action Line," the second-generation (1967) Chevrolet C/K Series added comfort and convenience features to what had previously been a line of work trucks. The most visible change in differentiating a 1968 from 1967 models was the addition of side-marker reflectors on all fenders. Also, the GMC grille was revised, with the letters 'GMC' no longer embossed in the horizontal crossbar." #tbt #throwback #Chevrolet

"A Canadian auto industry analyst says two months of plummeting car sales caused by the coronavirus crisis could set the stage for a major shakeup affecting everything from car manufacturing to dealerships, even the development of electric and autonomous vehicles. Dennis DesRosiers of DesRosiers Automotive Consultants said that April sales of Canadian automobiles fell by nearly 75 per cent, the second straight month of double-digit declines after March sales fell by 48 per cent as the epidemic took hold across Canada." #automotive #autoindustry #COVID19 ... "According to a new study from Capgemini that looked at populations in major countries around the world, those under age 35 are now seriously considering buying a car. The shift in thinking comes as they correlate health and safety risks associated with shared transportation, like Uber, Lyft or even a local bus network. A whopping 75% of those surveyed said buying their own car will give them greater control of hygiene." #automotive #autoindustry #COVID19 ... Source: cnet.com/roadshow/news, April 24, 2020

"COVID-19 is showing signs of accelerating a shift already underway in the new-car buying process: Most automakers will bring the business to you and are offering at home delivery. In fact, the entire process can already be done outside of a dealership in most cases." #automotive #autoindustry #COVID19 ... Source: cnet.com/roadshow/news/, April 7, 2020
