When we are living slowly and intentionally we can notice subtle shifts in the environment & body and act accordingly. We can begin to notice that the natural world provides the support we need, right when we need it.

This month, as an experiment, I’ve included some small cash envelopes for folks to meet their needs as they see fit. I feel direct cash transfer programs (UBI, reparations) move us towards a more equitable future. Scent is really good at modulating mood because olfactory pathways bypass the thalamus and enter straight to the amygdala - where emotions and memory is processed. Using scents is also a good way to shift focus if your amygdala is currently processing a lot. A grounding practice I’ve been enjoying as of late is smelling flowers on my evening neighborhood strolls. These honeysuckles are my favorites. And the mock orange. I swear flowers become more aromatic under moon light. Maybe for the night pollinators? Maybe for the nervous systems of the night strollers? It’s a fullmoon eclipse tonight and my astrology friends tell me it’s a big one. Take care out there
