Here's a frame I built out of rustic reclaimed tight grain fir for a custom pastel painting of an oryx by Janette's Pet Portraits. The recipient and artist are pictured here together with the framed piece. James Logan Slade, works tirelessly as a global Ranger. He wanted a custom art piece of one of his favourite animals from his time in Africa, so he hired Janette to create it for him and me to frame it.... I've been Busy making custom wood frames for Janette's Pet Portraits artwork. Here's the latest Live edge frame I finished today Made from local chainsaw milled beetle kill jack-pine, stained and Varathaned, custom mat board matting, acrylic sheet and veneer backing.

Another project complete. Custom cabinet/shelf combo. Built from 3/4" Birch plywood with hand made western maple edging and accents (stained and clear coated),and to finish it off, a little cabinet door made from a piece of reclaimed Doulas Fir from a 100 year old building.

2x12" custom live edge solid maple guitar or bass cab. Featuring Eminence Legend BP122-250W 8ohm speakers. Made entirely from solid bc maple wood (except for one piece of 3/4" Baltic Birch plywood for mounting the speakers). Four rubber feet, black hardware and Oxblood colour grill cloth to accent the natural stained and Polyurethane finished wood. This project was a special Idea I came up with. I searched high and low to find a similar cab to bass my design from but I couldn't find anything similar so I went at it from scratch. I am beyond stoked on the final product, and the cab's sound as well. This cabinet is for sale. If the right buyer is out there feel free to contact me.

Here's a custom hardwood bc maple frame, with roman ogee edge, that I hand made as a christmas/birthday present for my father. The beautiful wildlife art piece was created by Janette's Pet Portraits. Finished with oil stain, Varathane clear coat, and matted with a custom white foam core matt.

My talented wife painted this bald eagle portrait with soft pastels on Pastlemat paper. I had the pleasure of creating a hand made, one of a kind, frame from a piece of live edge spruce that I chainsaw milled locally here in Gold Bridge. Janette's Pet Portraits will have this original framed piece for sale for $375 at the Gold Bridge Fall fair tomorrow, along with her other originals, prints and holiday cards.

Here's some custom stairs I built a little while back. Steel treads inlaid into 6x6 fir stringers.

Just finished this custom shelving unit and cedar wall cladding for storage in a mud room. This client always has the coolest projects for me to build. He got these old growth fir 4x6 t&g timbers salvaged from a vancouver warehouse fire. It was a lot of work to clean them up but I am stoked I was able to bring his vision to life.

Sometimes, you gotta do a little before and after fixer upper.

Another stint at Ocean Falls complete. This time we completed all the finishing on the two bedrooms and bathrooms. Insulation, vapour barrier, drywall, wall boarding, painting, flooring, doors, trim/casing, vanities, landings and more.

After rafters comes fascias and roofing. Not the funnest work but the final product looks nice.

Hand cut rafters all day long!
