Brave means different things to different people. And yet, what I’ve discovered through working with hundreds of leaders, and enjoying countless inspiring conversations through our work at The BRV Institute, is that everyone always has an area of their life where they wish they were braver. And the good news is, brave can be taught!... And it’s all about taking one small step of action, before you feel ready, and the momentum builds from there. Ready to find out how brave you really are, and what small action you can take to become even braver? Take this quiz and find out! https://carolschulte.com/bravequiz/

Have you ever avoided something in your life? (Let’s be honest, who hasn’t?!? And if you answered no - I want to meet you!) The tough conversation. Your taxes. Eating your vegetables!... Chances are at some point you’ve put off one thing or another. We avoid things for many reasons. And it tends to be pretty back and white: ‘I don’t know how, so I can’t.’ ‘I don’t have time, so I won’t.’ But maybe it doesn’t have to be that way! In this week’s blog, we’ll explore how it doesn’t have to be all or nothing - and maybe there’s a way to look at it in a whole different way https://carolschulte.com/maybe-its-not-all-or-nothing-afte/

This line was spoken by the character Jamal in the movie ‘Seberg’ (based on a true story) quite by chance I began watching on the plane. He then went on to quote Malcom X. It so resonated with me, I wanted to look up the whole passage: Ignorance of each other is what has made unity impossible in the past. Therefore we need enlightenment. We need more light about each other. Light creates understanding, understanding creates love, love creates patience, and patience cre...ates unity. Once we have more knowledge (light) about each other, we will stop condemning each other and a United front will be brought about. ~ Malcolm X We have been ignorant - in many cases we still are. And yet change is possible I have to believe that. Can you imagine what the world would look like if we created a united front? And it starts with you, and it starts with me. Indeed if you change one mind you can change the world. See more

Courage is contagious, as is bravery. And often all it takes is that first, small step. You can, and will, make an impact. Believe. Trust. Hope. ... And then dare to take a step, to take a stand, to stand out.

I don’t know about you, but sometimes I need to be reminded to S-L-O-W down and being in nature always helps! Last week I hiked the Wild Pacific Trail and almost at every turn there were spectacular views of the coast - with the waves crashing, mountains on the horizon, surrounded by forest. It was stunning. (And still, I needed to try to keep myself in the moment, instead of trying to capture the moment!) When was the last time you allowed yourself to really slow down - a...nd to be in the moment while doing so? And where is your go-to place? Share below! See more
