Happy Thanksgiving! I hope there's good food on your table today and, especially for my Manitoba friends, that you have come through this weekend's snow "event" safely and reasonably unaffected. My thanks to the hydro crews who have been working so hard to get power restored as quickly as possible.

Something to think about next time you're scratching your head in the lighting aisle. Colour temp is not the be-all and end-all, and the CRI is often hard to find on the package, but it's an important consideration when lighting your home.

I'm SO ready for spring. I'm NOT a one-colour garden kind of gal. I can appreciate them when others have them, but in our short summers, I want a RIOT of colour. Last summer I stuffed some zinnia babies into a big pot as part of a desperate attempt to deal with an over-abundance of seedlings. They turned out to be a HUGE success, and this image is giving me visions of an even greater profusion of these colourful beauties this summer. Added bonus?
