Oh you know- Just been over here reminding myself how somethings that might have worked for me in the past might not work for me now. - - It's something that h...as been the topic of a lot of conversations over this weekend - - We are constantly changing and evolving, so if you think about it- doing and dealing with things in the same way is eventually not going to work anymore. Duh! - - Somehow I had forgotten this along the way. I'm not saying that they never did work- I'm saying you might have now outgrown them or need to change the way you do something! - - A great example of this in my life is my priorities and the way I approach my training/movement practice. - - For a good few years it was super helpful for me to develop discipline and resilience through training the way I did. I learned so much and it helped me to become who I am now. However, its becoming evident that that approach has served its purpose and is now needing to be adjusted. - - Another way this is becoming evident in my life is how I used to hide and avoid being the center of attention at all costs. I did this with the thought and belief that I would be taking the light from other people that needed it. - - For a period of time this worked for me and severed me well. HOWEVER, it's so obvious that in my current life, what once served me is now HOLDING ME BACK! - - I have A LOT that I have learned and a lot I can share with this world and if I continue to dim my light and actually believe it's doing me good- I will never fulfill my desires! - - THINGS THAT ONCE WORKED FOR YOU LIKELY WON'T WORK FOREVER. - - As you grow and as life changes- what makes you think the way you view and deal with things will stay the same? - - What are you still doing that's not working for you anymore? - - HINT: look at the areas of your life your wanting change to happen..I bet you'll find some there! - - Cred: @anthonydidomenico - - #choosehappiness #yogaeverydamnday #inspiration #transformation #letgo #bossbabe #reevaluate #earthangel #awareness #selflove #awaken #mentorship #guelphwellness #shineyourlight #goddess #changeyourlife #freedom #happiness #strong See more

SOUL LOVE SUNDAY - - This past Sunday I spent the entire day doing things that fed my soul. I slept in, watched 2 romantic movies, laid in the sun by the pool..., ate all the good food, enduldged in the most delicious pie, swam, had a long shower and lounged around. - - IT WAS BLISSFUL - - EVERY Sunday I make an effort to practice some serious self care- or what I like to call #soullove. - - WHY? - - I understand that I am WORTHY of my own attention and care I have gotten to know myself well enough to know that in order to set the tone for the following week- I need to recharge I have the self awareness to realize it takes certain things and time for me to really relax! The more love I fill my cup, the more I can effectively serve others Self Care (or soullove) = development of SELF LOVE! - - #soullovesunday #selfcare #selflove #awaken #guelphwellness #yogaeverydamnday #freedom #happiness #strong #earthangel #exploreroftheself #statseed #worthy #waterfall #newearth #selfawareness #gowithin #authenticself #compassion #committoyourself #care See more

My Story - - Sharing your story and being vulnerable can be such a beautiful yet challenging thing. I have been wanting to open up more about my life, my transf...ormation and what this is inspiring me to do, because I think it can be a powerful and inspirational story for people to hear. - - Something I didn't expect was how challenging it actually was. For one, it's actually been quite sometime since I have taken the time to reflect that deeply about where I used to be compared to where I am now- which to my surprise brought up a lot of emotions! - - And secondly, I have found it really difficult to condense my story into a brief video. I feel there are so many details and experiences that need to be expressed in order for someone to really grasp it. - - So, I share an overview of the biggest struggles I had and put an emphasis on who I used to be, my rock bottom that sparked change, and the person who I have become today. I feel a deep calling to continue to share and open up more about all of it as time goes on- so stay tuned! See more

Isn't it so strange how the ones who you love the most are also often the ones who are on the receiving end of all your shit?- even if it is unintentionally. ... - - Today I was reminded of one of my "shadows" so to speak that I am still working on. Sometimes I am a little bit of a control freak and don't like to be told what to do or how to do things and sometimes have a hard time accepting constructive criticism- EVEN if its presented to me in the most kind and loving way with the soul intention to help me be better. - - The most ironic thing about this is I don't have any trouble accepting it from most people, but find it's when it is the people who are closest to me- I resist it. I automatically and unconsiously go into "I already know, I don't need your help" mode. I become defensive and won't accept any of it. - - Why I do this? I am not entirely sure, and right now that is okay. What matters more is that I have a supportive partner who is not afraid to call me out on my shit when I need it. Although bits of me try to get out of it, or make excuses for my behaviour- I am now conscious and aware it and can actually ADMIT that I have a tendency to do that and now re-wire myself to react differently! - - This is something I'm going to spend sometime contemplating and working on so that I can allow myself to receive the advice and help that is offered to me and start perceiving it as an act of love rather then an attack. - - What's something you have recently been called out on or noticed about yourself? What actions have you taken to change it? - - #yogaeverydamnday #oldprogamming #selfawareness #gowithin #changeisgood #spiritualevolution #becomebetter #selfexploration #awaken #earthangelrising #selfwork #personalgrowth #shadows #compassion #starseed #truth #costarica #beauty #evolution #yogajourney #lessons #guelphwellness #lightworker

Each day we are presented with so many gifts. Take a deep breath- that's the gift of life, something to be grateful for. - - Even the hardships in life carry... gifts. They can teach us things about ourselves by the way we respond to them. What is something or someone you are stuggeling with? What is it teaching you? THAT is the gift. - - It's important that we seek these out in our day to day lives and acknowledge them. It can help us to view things from a different perspective. Instead of viewing a certain situation or relationship in a negative sense (this person makes me mad, they should have done things this way, that situation should have happened differently, etc) you can begin to view it as more of a gift. (Why does that person make me mad, what can I learn about myself from this, this person brings up impatience in me- how can I work on this?, that situation didnt turn out the way I had planned, what can I take from this?) - - Life is full of gifts- are you seeing them? - - #life #gifts #love #lifeisagift #yoga #inspiration #transformation #change #light #courage #lightworker #earthangel #learning #lessons #blessing #grateful #lessonsfromgrief #perspective #yogaeverydamnday #guelph #breath #divedeep #selfawareness #gowithin #changeisgood See more

Continuing with the theme of hip openers, pigeon pose tends to be the king of them in my opinion. It’s funny because I notice that people either love it and ask for it, or dread it and avoid it and I can understand why. First of all it can be a really intense posture and is sometimes totally inaccessible for some due to tight hips or even knee sensitivity. Secondly, like mentioned in last weeks pose, storing trauma, stress, anxiety and fear in the hips tends to be a primal re...action for us and these bottled up emotions can cause tight hips. Therefore, when we come into deep hip opening poses- like pigeon, bottled up emotions can often surface. This can be intense and scary for some, and liberating for others. But let’s also remember the enormous amount of physical benefits this pose can have on other areas of the body. Some examples are things such as, the correlation between back pain and tight hips (open hips mean less back pain), the fact that hip openers can help your knees and that open hips can increase your over all lower body mobility. If you are not very familiar with this pose my advice would be to take it nice and slow. Using more gentle hip openers to warm into it before diving in! - - #yoga #yogaeverydamnday #yogaheals #yogateacher #yogalifestyle #namaste #yogatips #yogainspiration #learnyoga #beginneryoga #surrender #guelphwellness #guelphyoga #guelph #stretch #pigeon #yogapose #emotions #release #hipopener #ease #deepbreaths #yogagirl #hips See more

It’s funny how things shift and constantly change. It’s something else I have been experiencing over the last few weeks of internal chaos. I have always had that same similar goal/passions/idea of what I want to do and how I want to be successful- but the means of getting there tend to evolve and change all the time. These past weeks have brought something in this realm to light for me. I have realized that I have out grown the way I have been training at the gym. It served... me extremely well for a good period of time and got me further into my journey with all the lessons, skills and characteristics that I have been able to develop. But since being in this state the last while, I have really been shown that it’s time to shift where I am putting my energy. (Basically being shown that the time is NOW for what I have been wanting to really create with my life). All of this came about because I found myself in a place of high stress and disconnect like I have mentioned in previous posts. One action I took was taking just over a week off of training. In this time I still moved- but instead dived deep into a gentle yoga practice once again. I have also been spending time diving into the creative space within myself by picking up a project that I have been working on for just over a year now (this has been very on and off). By picking this back up I very quickly realized that I have been ignoring the very thing that I am passionate about and LOVE doing because I didn’t have time to do it. So my priorities have changed once again. This leading to me revamping the way I train so that I can make that time to do BOTH of the things that I enjoy so much. It’s amazing how life will push you in such an uncomfortable direction in hopes that you will be conscious and patient enough to recognize what it is trying to tell you. These times of darkness and confusion are oh so painful- but oh so necessary sometimes. I’m really looking forward to continuing to work on these projects and cannot wait to share what I am working on once it’s ready! - - #changeyourlife #yogi #yoga #yogaeverydamnday #inspiration #transformation #change #costarica #sunset #yogavibes #beachyoga See more
