How's everyone doing in week 48 of self isolation? (just kidding ;-) I think it's actually week eight or nine. But boy, at times it has felt like 48 weeks, hasn't it? In any case, I wanted to bring this episode to you today inspired by a conversation with one of my colleagues, Stephanie Woodward. Stephanie is a trained advisor in psychological health and safety through the national standard of Canada. So proud Canadian. We have this great standard in Canada that outlines 13 factors of psychological health and safety in the workplace. Right around 10 is when we begin to internalize our formal taming. Ten is when the world sat me down, told me to be quiet and pointed toward my cages. I was wild until I was tamed by shame. I lost myself when I learned how to please.... Life is alchemy and emotions are the fire that turns me to gold. I will continue to become only if I resist extinguishing myself 1 million times a day. If I can sit in the fire of my own feelings, I will keep becoming. These are four quotes directly from @glennondoyle....and that was only from the first few chapters!! . It felt like she was speaking directly to me. But now I realize I’m sharing a common journey with other and it makes me feel less lonely. . This book is brilliant.
